Hey cutie! Welcome back to Quianna Marie Weekly. I yap a ton about the benefits of booking a brand session. The content bank will create all of the photos and video you need for your next launch, sales pages, social media, and all of your marketing. I educate and overshare ways to prepare for your next branding session, fine tuning your messaging and curating the brand that you are building, backed by your experiences and all of the passion that got you here.
What I haven’t mentioned lately though is one of the biggest aftershocks or results of booking a brand session with me. That’s confidence, baby. The confidence shift you’ll feel after you start creating content. Not before, not when you finally feel ready, but after you start showing. Because I see this all the time with my clients and friends during brand sessions and content days.
I see it all the time. They show up a little nervous feeling a little scattered with outfits thrown together on hangers, unsure what to do with their hands, wondering if they look awkward on camera. By the end of the session, they’re glowing, they’re laughing, their confidence is soaring through the roof, and suddenly they’re saying things like, “Okay, wait…
I actually love this.” “Oh my gosh, I feel legit.”
“My business finally looks like I feel inside.”
And that confidence doesn’t come from waiting until you feel ready. It comes from letting yourself be seen. So today I wanna talk with you all about why visibility feels so scary, why showing up online can feel vulnerable, and how creating content can actually transform the way you see yourself as a business owner.
Let’s start with why visibility feels so scary. Trust me, I know showing up online can feel incredibly vulnerable when you post content. You are not just sharing information. You are sharing your voice, your perspective, and a piece of your identity, and that opens the door for judgment, comparison, criticism, or even just the fear of people watching you.
A lot of business owners stay quiet because they’re thinking, what if I say the wrong thing? What if people think this is so cringe? What if nobody cares? Or worse, this is what I get all the time. What if someone takes what I say out of context and I get canceled? Because that’s a reality, right? But the reality is this, your dream clients aren’t judging you.
They’re looking for someone they can trust. And trust can’t happen if you stay invisible. I remember my family would always make fun of me for taking a million photos and capturing our family trips, Sunday suppers and holidays with little video clips. I quickly became the family historian and after the party or the get together, after teasing me for taking so many photos, guess who was the first to ask me to send them pics or help them edit or caption their photos.
That’s right. It was my family and they wanted me to do it. They teased me for going live on Facebook and Instagram. They would make fun of my tripods, and when I had that selfie stick back in the day, girl, I was like the queen of selfie sticks. Of course, they teased me. Lucky for me, I came from a home and family full of bullies that would tease me.
So it didn’t really phase me because when I hit record to create content online, I wasn’t talking to them. I was talking to my current clients, dream clients and past clients. The audience that engaged and literally paid my bills. I know my family will forever be there for me if I need them. I know, but no one but me and my husband are paying our bills.
I hope you know that your audience is praying to find you. They are searching for you, but they literally don’t know you exist yet. Please don’t let the fear of showing up be greater than the fear your clients are facing. Let’s show up for them. Content creation is vulnerable because you’re stepping into a leadership role.
You are now saying, this is what I believe, this is how I help people. This is what I stand for, and that can feel very uncomfortable at first, but something really interesting happens when you start posting consistently. Instead of feeling exposed, you start feeling empowered. You quickly realize people are listening.
They actually are listening. People are learning. People are resonating with what you are sharing. And even if they’re like creepy lurkers, trust me, people are watching. And that’s when your voice starts to feel stronger. Have you ever had something happen to you like hitting a grand slam in high school and hitting those, those game winning runs?
Or maybe, have you ever shared a crazy travel story about delayed and missed flights? Nothing too traumatic here, but a story that you end up sharing over and over and over. We all have stories like this. The kind that you tell your mom about your sister and your best friend, and you end up starting the story with, wait, you haven’t heard this one yet?
Then get all excited to tell it, right? So like, think of a story I want. I want you to kind of like go back into the archives, go back in the back of your brain and try to think of a story like that that you’ve always been so excited to share. Soon you realize that the more people you tell, the better at the punchline and the storyline you get.
You notice that some details don’t really matter, so maybe you leave that out of the next time, or you embellish other parts or add context to explain things better. You know the story so well that the more you tell it, it’s like watching a movie in your mind. The enthusiasm, the cliffhangers, okay. Now imagine sharing stories like that, but about your client experience.
Firsthand stories about your client wins, sketch stories about how there was an emergency, and then everything worked out better than you could have imagined. Do you see where I’m going? Here? Your content will continue to get better and better and better when you share your voice, your own lived experiences, and practice sharing these stories.
Share about the difference between your first family session ever to how you run the show now, share about a wedding mishap and how you and the bridesmaid save the day. If you are a realtor, share how an open house had a mixed up date on the schedule, but you were able to prepare it in 15 minutes before guests started arriving.
Stop complicating content. You are living these moments. Share them. Okay, so you may be thinking, okay, key. I get it. I think I have some stories to share and I’ll get better about writing them down when they come to mind, but I’m still feeling kind of blah, about hitting record. A lot of people think confidence comes first.
One day, you’ll just wake up and magically feel ready to show up online. But confidence actually comes after the action. It grows the repetition. The first time you film a video, it might feel awkward. The 10th time you start finding your rhythm, the hundredth time, you just start speaking way more naturally.
Confidence isn’t a personality trait. It’s a muscle you build. Content creation is one of the fastest ways to build it as a business owner, anytime I’m not feeling confident with something in my business, I love to source confidence outside of my business. I do this by calling up friends and asking to do a little, get together with a girl’s brunch, try making a new recipe, or usually I just whip up a favorite and try my hardest to remember what the steps are without looking at the recipe.
I love art projects with my niece, Eliana, and any type of hobby or adventure that boosts my confidence without even trying hosting little get togethers, bringing friends together and enjoying your hobbies is a great way to borrow confidence to fuel your next action because this is what business owners miss a lot.
They make confidence, their identity, when in reality it’s just a badge of confidence you need to put on to get something done. Sure. Some of us wear that badge more often, but even the most confident people you know, aren’t confident with everything in their life. So stop stressing about identifying yourself as being confident or not, and instead focus on feeling confident to just take that next step.
The more confidence you have with showing up, the more you become a regular on social media. You know, like a regular at your coffee shop, like a local coffee shop. They end up popping up on your dream Clients feeds more often. Clients trust businesses they can see consistently. There’s also this marketing side to this conversation that I wanted to tap into too.
Okay. People trust businesses that feel familiar. If someone sees you sharing insights, showing behind the scenes, talking about your work, showing up consistently, they start to feel like they know you. And when it comes time to hire someone, they’ll choose the person who feels recognizable and trustworthy.
And babe, no, that’s not the person that’s staying quiet. That’s you because you are showing up. Visibility builds familiarity. Familiarity builds trust. Trust builds bookings, and gets you booked and making money. Honey, as most business owners in our industry, we’re all doing the same things. We use the same gear, invest in the same software, and most of us edit very similarly too.
So how are you standing out in your industry? Sharing your voice, your stories, and showing up online is the easiest way to find your people. When it’s time for them to invest in your service, if it’s meant to be, they will connect with you. Like I’ve mentioned a million times before on the podcast, you’re already doing the work.
You don’t need to carve out daily times to stare at your phone and feel like your brain is empty. That little red blinking light is just the death of me, right? I prefer to record pieces of my client experience as it’s happening. Then once a month or so, I love creating content days. Where I have one action item to record all of those ideas, take a scroll back to Episode 199: 90 days of Content In Just One Day.
This episode walks you through what it looks like to work with me for a brand day so you don’t have to spin your wheels and feel hopeless with content generation. We can do it together. That’s episode number 199. Make sure to check that out when we work together. You’ll leave your shoot feeling powerful af.
You’ll have your offers fine tuned and know exactly who you’re speaking to. No more wishy-washy content that speaks to five different people. We laser focus your brand messaging and align your offers with who you are now and the next era. Your entering this confidence you’ll feel after the shoot fuels your next post for the next three to six months.
Plus, the best part is the pep in your step that carries you into every room you enter. It’s like that feeling after leaving your hair, when you’re getting your hair done, and you don’t even care if the windows are down. You feel radiant, you’re glowing, and that’s the energy that your future clients need to feel.
I am not the photographer that makes you sit in front of a backdrop, tries to make you look as skinny as possible with a perfect pose, right? We are creating depth. We are creating movement. We are creating imagery that your dream clients can see with just a handful of photos and feel. You feel like they know you, feel like they trust you and prove that you are the expert that you are.
If you’ve been waiting to create more content, but you’re still thinking, I don’t even know what to film, I don’t even know where to begin. That’s exactly why I created book More with B-roll. It walks you through simple behind the scene clips. You can film with your phone so you can create weeks of content quickly and start building that visibility and confidence.
Now, legit today, let’s get it going. If you’re ready to elevate your brand with professional photos and build an entire content library together, that’s exactly what we do during my personal branding sessions and content days. Head over to Instagram. At Keana Marie and DM me the word brand, I’ll shoot over all the details or peep the show notes for more info to start planning your personal branding session today.
Because sometimes the fastest way to feel confident in your brand is to actually see yourself through the lens of someone who believes in your business. And that’s me. That’s me. I wanna leave you with this reminder. Confidence doesn’t come from waiting until you feel ready. It comes from showing up.
When it feels a little scary, every post, every video, every photo, you’re not just creating content, you’re stepping into the version of yourself who leads their business with confidence. I love partnering with brands that are ready to grow. When we work together, we create timeless photos that last for generations, not just for social media.
I know I talk a lot about content and social media, but those are just tools. I’m passionate about creating generational wealth, financial freedom, and making memorable experiences with the ones we love. I’m confident you have what it takes to believe in this next step. Can’t wait to help you show up and thrive online and in real life.
I’d love to help get you started today with Book More with B-Roll or booking a branding session. The first step is easy when we get to do it together. I am always, always cheering for you, cutie.
