As a Northern California wedding photographer I absolutely love spending my time hunting for the best locations in my backyard. I am more than blessed to call this state home and take every chance I can to explore. By just spending a couple hours in the car you can enjoy the mountains, deserts, lakes, ocean, snow and even these historical redwoods. As soon as I discovered this little chapel hidden beneath the trees at the bottom of my boyfriend’s uncle’s property I couldn’t stop dreaming of a bridal shoot! Together with friends in the wedding industry this day dream became a reality…

Together Jessica Rankin and I have been dreaming and scheming with each other via Pinterest Inspirations, late night texts and phone calls filled with excitement for this magical day. We organized the troops and couldn’t be happier with our collaboration.

I have heard more than once that styled shoots are a waste of time and aren’t very good practice for a wedding day because of the relaxed and comfortable vibe without the stresses and time crunches of a wedding day. Now although this is true, I would like to clear the air on this thought bubble… Stylized shoots are SO much more than practice! These collaborations are a wonderful way to connect with vendors, showcase their work/craft/talent/amazingness and throw the photos around social media like glitter! It’s such a wonderful feeling to make these connections, collaborate and watch these sketches and day dreams become a reality! If you’re planning your own in the near future Jasmine Star has some great tips to share!
