Quianna: Welcome back to the show, babe. Last week’s episode with Felicia was so fun. I could literally talk for days about how I love podcasting and how it’s opened so many doors and opportunities for me and my business. Not just for my own offers, digital products, and booking more photo shoots, but for connecting me with incredible business owners around the world doing really, really big things.
If you’re new here. Hi, gorgeous. I’m your host Quianna, and I’ve been a photographer for over 20 years paying taxes and keeping things legit for over 15 years. Photographing weddings, family portraits, boudoir products, events. And today I’m focusing on branding and helping small business owners thrive through every season.
I have a passion for documenting the behind the scenes. Sharing this long dirt road of entrepreneurship together. We’re going places babe. So grab your notebook, make sure your earbuds are fully charged for your hot girl walk this morning. If you are back for more and are weekly listener of the show, hello my love.
I’m beyond grateful to have you back and will forever be grateful for your time and energy. I know you have a billion other things to listen to, so having me in your ear is truly an honor. Today I’m bringing back Felicia back on the show to chat about marketing, amplifying and radiating your content.
Yes, we’ll be talking all about the importance of amplifying your podcast, but even if you don’t currently or don’t plan on having your own podcast. This is absolutely a coaching call you don’t wanna miss. So many of us feel like we’re being annoying, sharing our offers, services, and ways to work with us over and over and over again.
But we’re both here to tell you that your dream client or even the people that are in your circle that opted in to hear more from you still don’t see everything you post with algorithms. These days. We’re lucky if 3% of our audience actually sees what we’re up to on our socials. We’re gonna chat about creative ways to repurpose your content and how to generate an endless content machine that helps you and your business build trust and prove your value.
I am so fricking excited to welcome back Felicia Romero. To Quianna Marie Weekly. Let’s cut the fluff. And start sharing those juicy tips, marketing strategies, and fun ways to push out your content. Ready? Let’s go.

Ready? Let’s go.
Hey, hey, hey. Welcome back Felicia. It is such an honor to have you back on the show. How are you girlfriend? I’m so excited to be here. Oh my gosh. And I’m excited to like see you. And we are so excited for our podcasting event coming up in August. Ooh, I cannot fricking wait. And today I just wanna get into the juicy questions to kind of really take us through like a day in the life of the event, some expectations, things I can look forward to.
And ultimately I wanna talk about amplifying our voices because I think sometimes it can be overwhelming planning the podcast, planning guests doing like a mapping of offers and launches and strategy. Like all of that kind of like, I would say, like packing for the road trip, like packing for the, for the podcast experience is a lot of work.
But then I think where a lot of podcasters fall short. Is okay. I’m done. It’s live. And so what I would love to chat with you today is how are we turning our podcast episodes into content engines? Mm-hmm. Like freight trains that cannot be denied, that are not only heard, but then there’s pieces of it like glitter all over social media.
Felicia: I love this question, and this is one of the, one of the reasons why I love podcasting, not only for the community building, but number two, you have, you’re killing two birds with one stone. You have a content engine. Now, let me break it down for you. Okay. You and I are having this conversation right now.
And let’s say it’s a 20 minute conversation all on the strategies around podcasting, how to monetize. We’re giving, give you some tangible things that you can take away with you today. So if you have a podcast, incredible, you are gonna be able to take some of the things that Keana and I are sharing and run with it.
But if you don’t have a podcast and you’ve been thinking about having, having a podcast, I’m not like trying to like convince you to start a podcast, but this is the reason why you need to start thinking about it very seriously. And it’s for the reasons why, what I just mentioned, like we are right here having this conversation.
I’m recording it live with video and. I’m basically creating this you and I both this content engine. Now, from these videos, we can cut it down into 32nd video sound clips for our TikTok and our Instagram. We can take the long version, we can throw it on YouTube. We can take maybe even like we, we also strong believer one of the things that is really gonna help people stand out this day and age is being thought leaders.
So when we are having these conversations, Kiana, they are not scripted. They are not, we’re not like picking up our phone and thinking about what to. Say to our screen, we are having real time candid conversations where our own thoughts and opinions come through. I’m very much if you understand human design.
I’m a responder, so I love when someone asks me a question and I can respond openly, candidly, honestly. A lot of what I, you know, say or think is sometimes my own thoughts, my own thoughts on a certain subject where I can become, become a thought leader. Mm-hmm. And so when you see these conversations that are happening right now on social media and you see someone’s podcast or they’re sharing a thought or an opinion that’s gonna elevate your authority.
Like it’s, this is the easiest way to do it with an open, candid conversation. It’s not scripted. You don’t have to pick up a phone and talk into the camera, which so many people, how many, I mean, how many times have you ever picked up a phone, Kiana and like. Paused and like thought about what you’re gonna say.
Oh yeah. Like, yeah. Oh, how am I gonna say this? Oh, wait, let me rerecord. It’s not authentic. It’s not, it doesn’t feel authentic and candid. Whereas podcasting allows you to do that. So you literally turn your 25, your 30 minute conversation, your 45 minute conversation into a content engine, essentially.
Quianna: Yes.
Oh my gosh. I’m obsessed with this topic because the, the ideas are limitless when it comes to content. Oh my gosh. So I would love to break down what strategies have you been using recently? Because I feel like podcasting 10 years ago. Like those strategies are out, right? Podcasting pre 2020 out after 2020 are in like, right.
So like what strategies are you really excited about when it comes to promoting your episodes?
Felicia: Mm, I love that. And I’ll actually share what I want to do. And I actually would love to pick your brain about Pinterest. Yes. That you’ve tapped into the Pinterest world, especially being like the wedding photographer and like.
I just wanna like pick your brain on that. But for me, some of the things that I’m really excited about is, well, one of the things that gets me really excited about podcasting is that every guest that I have on, they know that in order to be on my podcast, they actually have to, one of the, like, the, not, not, I don’t wanna use the term guidelines, but like, like the intake form.
Yeah. Like I make sure that they are going to promote to their community.
Quianna: Mm-hmm.
Felicia: So it’s one thing being on my podcast and they’re gonna be promoted to like all of my community, but I wanna make sure that they’re also gonna promote to theirs. So we have a, you know, sort of these like. You know, this baseline created where, uh, I, I wanna say like maybe like expectations that, that in order for us to share and talk, have these conversations that they’re gonna share it to their email list.
They’re going to, when I ask them to collaborate, they’re gonna like, accept the collaboration from Instagram. Mm-hmm. So I am then being exposed to their incredible community, whether it be their email list, their TikTok, or their Instagram. Um, something that I would love to actually dive more into. Is the LinkedIn is the Pinterest, which I haven’t really got into, but that’s something that I actually want to start utilizing more is dropping those clips and those sound bites on my LinkedIn as well.
Quianna: Oh my gosh, I light up. Oh my gosh. Like I get so passionate when I talk about this stuff. And I would say before we even get into Pinterest, before we get into LinkedIn, I encourage everyone to house their show notes on a blog post. So girl, we have got to get that up and going For you, how do you do that?
What does that look like for people? So I have my blog, it’s hosted through WordPress. And WordPress for me is like the OG of blogging. It catalogs everything. It makes everything searchable. Oh my gosh. I can just go on and on for this for days, but I would start there. And then just to, just to be clear, um, my website is, I would call it house, like it’s.
I don’t know what the right word is. Gosh. I’m like, not a a code person, but basically it’s housed through. Show it and show it. I adore them. They are a local family owned business show. It is the best and I’m just so grateful for them. And what’s beautiful about WordPress and show it is they align. That’s like our way of saying that they like, makes, makes everything look cohesive.
Um, they connect or whatever, like the fancy tech word is. They connect and they can make it all look seamless and beautiful. And here’s why this is important to start blogging. Every single episode is it is something that you own. So this is really scary, and I will, and you know, everyone every once in a while will mention, oh, you don’t own social media.
Like your whole following could be on an instant. And I feel like we’re numb to that. Like we, we have heard that so many times, but this also very much applies to your podcast because what happens if all of a sudden. Everything goes down and Spotify has the, these new terms and conditions that you don’t, that you don’t abide by like, right.
Or maybe Apple Music goes down for even just a day like that could absolutely impact our business. Having a blog post is something that you own, and it is literally the pinpoint. So I love describing SEO like a spiderweb. Let’s say your blog post, which is like the show notes of your episode, that like right there is like the center of your Charlotte’s web, right?
Like that is the where like the heartbeat of your business. Mm-hmm. Because you own it, it’s yours. And then every little spiderweb that shoots out of that, whether that is tagging to, you could have 50 images for one blog post. You can literally have unlimited amount of graphics for one blog post that goes there.
Right? You can have, um, your LinkedIn graphics, right? This is where it’s just kind of like, it gets very overwhelming. Also a breath of fresh air because you could create all different sizes of graphics with one click now with Canva, right? Like you can even hire a graphics designer, right? And you could literally have that one piece of content, like, you know, your show notes, your just kind of recap.
I love putting the transcripts of the podcast because we do wanna make sure that when somebody lands on your blog, they get everything. They get a quick little quote, graphic, they go, they get a photo of you, they get the audio, and they get the transcript. And what that’s doing is that is literally telling Google.
Oh, this is a juicy piece of content. This is a piece of content that will appeal to everybody and all of their needs because it’s right here. Right? And so that’s something that I feel like a lot of podcasters really miss the mark on is because they’re, they’re so passionate about what they do. They show up.
But then it just kind of like dies and then the next week they’re onto the next topic.
Felicia: Yeah. I, okay, so I’m gonna approach this from someone who is naive Okay. And doesn’t understand like where a blog lives. Yes. So when you say blog post and I also use show it. Okay. And I wanna say that I pay for WordPress through Okay Daddy.
’cause it might show, it integrates with GoDaddy. Okay. So I, and the only reason I know that is ’cause I see the thing come through every month. Like, oh, you paid for your WordPress or whatever. It’s very inexpensive. Pennies. It’s, it’s so cute. Right. But I, so when you say show notes to blog posts and the incredible thing about ai, now, depending on where you host your podcast, I know I hosted on Libsyn, it creates show notes for me.
And you can also like integrate whenever you’re doing something like this, like an Otter or some sort of like. Some sort of note taker where it actually like takes all of your show notes and and, and condenses it for you and like takes your conversations and turns it into show notes. But when you say having a blog post, like break that down.
Is it living on your website? Like where does this blog live? So I would
Quianna: say, and that was the right word I needed, was integration. Yeah. So having a blog post is your website. So a blog post, like a blog is an extension of your website. We just need to have WordPress as the platform because Showit doesn’t have like inherit blog platform.
So that’s where they kinda need to marry each other and work cohesively together. So for example, if you go to my website, keanu marie.com, and you click on blog, you will be pulled up a blog. And what I love about this so much is through posting. And I’ve been blogging for literally the last 15 years. But you can literally, like, you can type your name in Felicia and you just, Felicia, and it will pull up all of the podcast episodes that we have done together.
It will pull up all of the articles that I’ve written about you, that we’ve shared, that we’ve promoted. And so this is such a, like imagine this tool for your business, right? We’re getting into like the nitty, the nitty gritty here, but let’s say you are a podcast host. You are launching something new. You could literally have a tag on your blog and it categorizes them for you.
So you could literally tell your listeners, Hey, go check out blah, blah, blah on my, you know, go check out launching strategies or Go check out gut health tips. And it will pull up all of your articles, all of your recent episodes, like it is just a gold mine of content that you own.
Felicia: I love it. And I’m there now, so I’m on.
So I went to marie.com and she has a tab, and this is something that I’m sure. I feel like I could probably do, but if you don’t know how to do all of this, you probably could have some sort of graphic designer do this for you. But I clicked on blog and it’s pretty incredible. She has all of her recent episodes there along with little thumbnails with the image of her guest and her.
So it’s pretty incredible, especially two going down and wanting to like dig deeper so people could binge your podcast essentially. You have this like home base where it’s living in the ether of the internet where you have the SEO and people are searching. So if someone were to maybe search content ideas or B-roll, Kiana might pop up in that SEO as people are searching.
And this is something that you can also, because Pinterest is also becoming an SEO powerhouse where you can type in like how many times have you gone to Pinterest? And I was looking for European summer looks. And then all of these images pop up, but when you click on the image, it actually takes you to articles and blogs where there’s click, um, links in the blog that probably takes them back to their Amazon, where they’re making money on commissions and affiliates.
So it goes pretty deep. But I think, you know, first and foremost, just getting really clear on what it is that you wanna move forward with. Getting really good on that. So if you are not like great at posting content. Get good at that first, right? Get good at whatever it is that you wanna like, really like dive into first.
Like for me, I’m good with posting. I post on TikTok, I post on Instagram, I’m doing all the things. Now I wanna like dive into the other world, like maybe even this, and I wrote this down, like taking my show notes, turning them into blogs and my website. Like that would be a next step for me ’cause I’ve mastered all of these other things.
Oh my
Quianna: gosh, I love this so much. Like I said, these are just unlimited possibilities for your growth and your expansion. I feel like this is like definitely like an untapped secret when, especially when it comes to Pinterest, right? A lot of people, there’s this saying, oh, blogging is dead, or, oh, nobody reads blogs anymore.
And you’re probably right, they don’t read them. But you made such a good point that when you’re searching for something specific. So imagine our ideal clients, right? So maybe we’re not looking for recipes or we’re looking for European looks for our next vacation, but we’re actually looking for how do I make more money?
How do I build a sustainable online business? How do I like insert whatever your clients are looking for. This is the beauty of creating content and like inden, like indexing it right? Just going back to that Charlotte’s Web, like you’re just making all these little sticky notes, like literally key points in a spider web all over the internet.
So your content, your podcast, your Instagram posts, your tiktoks and your reels, everything is actually findable, like your clients that are actively searching for you, not just scrolling around, looking for trends and entertained. Those are fun, but like people that are actively praying for you and looking for you and desiring what you offer.
We have to be showing up for them.
Felicia: Yeah. I love this so much. And the reason we were talking about this, especially around this whole, um, idea of turning your podcast into a content engine is. Really kind of it. It’s really dropping the seed for you, especially if you’ve been thinking about launching a podcast and the reasons why like this is so incredible in what your podcast can be.
So, number one, not only building community, which is gonna help your bottom line, whatever you’re doing in your business, or maybe you just are really focused on building community ’cause you wanna launch something or write a book later on, right? Mm-hmm. You have a built-in community. I was just reading an article recently on these, I, I heard this hot take on all of these beauty brands that are being bought out.
So Road just bought out, um, or Elf Bought Road, essentially Haley Bieber’s. Cosmetic company for like over a billion dollars. And what’s incredible about that, now that brand is different because it’s celebrity backed. She already has her community based on her being a celebrity. But it brought up another point with some other makeup companies.
For instance, Glossier, if anyone knows Glossier, I have some of their perfume, I have some of their blip glosses. They like skyrocketed these last few years. They’re in Sephora. They’re, I mean, they just grew, like they’re worth hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars now, and I’m not sure if they got bought out.
What was incredible about the founder of Glossier is she had a blog. She started with a blog that had like 200,000 to subscribers that she had built in the mid, you know, 20, like during the blog era of 2012 to 2016, and it grew. So when she launched Glossier. She had a built-in community and it just boom, like skyrocketed.
So this is, this is what’s incredible about podcasting in this day and age, which blogging may not be as relevant, it’s still relevant. People still love reading and you know, you get, you get fed different things on Google, but. Essentially podcasting is sort of this new way to not only public speak, but also blogging.
It’s, it’s incredible. And so if you know, if you’ve already like had that seed planted for you where you’re like, I know I want to start a podcast, this is why this is so important and this is why in. Kiana and I are actually hosting an in-person workshop called the Podcast Portal Live on August 23rd, where we are going to create and launch your podcast.
But you’re gonna also get to hear from us and we’re gonna go deeper with these tips and strategies. Kiana is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to. How to not only like monetize your podcast ’cause she has some big lofty goals with wanting to do that, which is incredible and I know she’ll get there.
But also like how to turn it into a content engine, how to host live events, how to, you know, even host, like what I love doing is hosting live podcast events within my mastermind retreats, right? And really bringing these incredible guests where we have these incredible, intimate conversations. With women in the room in my home with an incredible podcast guest.
So there are so many possibilities and I am just so excited to host this event and share it with all the people in the room who are also gonna launch the podcast.
Quianna: Amazing. I love this. And I love a good little like recap and just kind of like, okay, hold on. I think I’m picking up what you’re putting down.
And I think the biggest takeaway from that conversation, everything from the big. Makeup takeover to getting into the room with us for our podcast portal really is just the reminder that this is a growth strategy. Podcasting is a growth opportunity for your business, for your personal brand. And I think sometimes there’s this misconception that people think, oh, after I make X amount of money, like we put these ideas in our head, like, oh, after I launch this big next product or after I whatever, enter the blank, then I’ll be good enough.
I will be perceived as an expert. If and when I do X, Y, Z, and I just wanna like give you the biggest hug right now for you listening, whether you’re on your hot girl walk, whether you are doing some tours around the house or getting your steps in in the morning, whatever that looks like for you right now.
I just wanna give you the biggest hug that this is where it begins. You’re building your community, you are building trust, you are creating genuine friendships and connections with your guests, with your listeners. Community and it really does start here and oh my gosh, like I say, a million times, the opportunities are just limitless.
Felicia: Yes. Oh my gosh. So if you’re listening to this right now, which you are, and this, this is for you, this one day workshop happening August 23rd, it’s for the woman who has a powerful story, message, or mission. Know she’s meant to speak, lead and impact others, maybe feels overwhelmed by the tech or stuck in the start phase.
Wants hands-on support from experts and not just another online course that’s collecting dust. Is ready to be seen and heard in real life and on every platform. Wants a podcast to feel like an extension of her purpose and her brand and craze community clarity, and just wants that final push to launch.
Okay. So we are just so excited and you’re gonna, we’re gonna have an incredible photo shoot that day where we get to shoot your. Podcast cover. So we’re gonna bring the props, we’re gonna bring the ideas for you in order to shoot that podcast cover. We’re gonna bring all the things ready for you, and Kiana is gonna shoot that.
And we are just, we’re so excited. This is gonna be such a fun day. We’ve been in the depths of planning it. Um, we just secured our guest for our live podcast event, and we are just so excited to be in the room with all these incredible up and coming podcasters who wanna share. Their mission with the world.
So yeah.
Quianna: Yes. We can’t wait. It’s going to be epic. Bring your A game. Come with an open heart in your notebook. ’cause Oh my gosh. We are gonna cover so much in just one day.
Felicia: Absolutely. And space is limited. We’re keeping it limited to only 20 women because we wanna make sure that we give you that hands-on support.
So if you know you wanna be in the room, now is the time to grab that spot and you’re just gonna head over to the show notes or go to our Instagram pages. That’s also in the show notes at Kiana Marie or at Felicia. Romero or at the Hi Felicia podcast and send us a DM or just click in the show notes.
