Jaya Rose
Oh my goodness, thank you for the invitation. First party I’ve been to in a while. Trying to remember I don’t get out much.
Quianna Marie
Well, I’m so happy you’re here. I seriously am just so stoked that I found you through Tik Tok. That’s how I first discovered you and I started following along with you closely with your posts and all of your encouragement. I’d love to share that most of your videos and I say most meaning all of your videos are packed with these aha moments. Your messaging with how you’re sharing your your brand and your business and your offers gives me as a business owner, a sigh of relief, like it actually feels good to be in your space. And so I would love for you to share with us how tick tock has impacted your business.
Jaya Rose
I love that so much. Well, it impacted it in the way that you just proved that it did where you said you found me there. And so I mean, I think that tick tock is a lot of things for a lot of people. For me, it has been primarily about business. But then on the side, it’s been about connection. And I’ve gotten to learn so many new things. So it’s like my intention to grow my business has happened and I’m happy to share with you how I’ve done that. But then just on a personal level. It’s it’s my thing, you know what I mean?
It’s the app that I pull up at night when I want to scroll for 30 minutes. And it’s it’s the place that I feel like is actually doing some good and I know that there’s a lot of drama and there’s a lot of shitty stuff there as well. But for me it’s really been a positive thing and then also because of my business. So before I started on tick tock two and a half years ago, I had actually been teaching live video. I’d been teaching video for about four years before I even went on On tick tock, which was so funny because I was petrified to get on tick tock and so this is just a vote of confidence for anybody who’s wanting to get on tick tock, and maybe you’re questioning yourself, like, why does this feel so challenging or scary?
Well, it did for me, and I didn’t have any issue with hearing my voice or having something to say, right, the common sort of things that people get afraid of. So it was challenging, because it asks you to be so concise with your message, and bring, like every single cent needs to count, which is why I appreciate so much that you said, there’s so many aha moments, you know, even if it’s only 30 seconds, and it took practice to get to this place. But personally, again, but within my business, it has created so much confidence in my ability usage and my ability to impact people, and just trust that what I’m saying is really valuable and that it matters.
So on that level, I would tell everybody to do it just to build your voice, you know, to like, get confident in your voice. And then on a side note for my business, that’s pretty much where I transitioned all of my visibility, where I do all my client attraction. And it’s been incredible.
Quianna Marie
Yeah, well, and I love that you mentioned that’s how we connected. And I know before we hit record, and I mean, this is if you’re just tuning in, this is the first time I’ve ever met you Jaya. Like, this is just obviously a video call. And so you asked how to pronounce my name. Because the way it’s like we don’t know each other and, and what’s crazy. Yeah, and I always, always preach connection, this is what this whole series of connection calls is, is putting yourself out there. Having your, your your voice, your name, your brand, like your brand being known. And it’s really scary. Like I was actually really nervous before this conversation.
Jaya Rose
Yeah, no, it’s so true. It’s like, you have the desire, like you said, You created this to be no on to share your message to connect with people. And yet there’s fear in it. It’s so interesting. I don’t know, I just love sort of noticing those nuances. Because it’s not an especially in the whole success realm, which I think you know, that’s where my message lands. It’s like, it’s just never one thing. Oh, I just blew up my business on Tiktok. It’s also I overcame a lot of fear. And I’ve had a lot of ups and downs and right, it’s a it’s holistic, like everything in life. Yes.
Quianna Marie
Well, one thing that really drew me to your video that I mentioned a little bit earlier, was truly your energy. And I could feel it. And it wasn’t just your confidence, I want to make that clear for anyone who hasn’t quite stalked you or scrolled through your videos yet. But you really do have this welcoming demeanor. And I just would love to know how your energy is affecting your business. Because that’s one thing that I’m like, wow, I see all these coaches online, and I see all these people promoting and wanting to, you know, get to the next level and become the highest self. But that can be very draining. So can you share with us how your energy relates to your business and how you navigate that?
Jaya Rose
Totally, I know what you mean, in the online coaching specialty, especially especially like the spiritual realm, where people are teaching you that your energy matters. It’s funny because I’ve been in that world and I have a lot of information around it. Like I have a lot of opinions, I should say. And I tend to talk about energy from a more practical level, instead of like the esoteric, the vibration that you’re putting out. I mean, I I do believe in that. I just don’t think it’s as Almighty as we think it is. Personally believe that the human experience, that means our feelings, our emotions, our nervous system reactions, our trauma responses, right, our stress responses, all of this is really what makes people feel comfortable with you or not, you can be high vibe to the moon.
But yet, if it doesn’t feel grounded, right, and rooted in a nervous system that is regulated to that could actually support me, I’m not going to be called to work with you. So for me, it’s like it comes from more than just, yeah, the the energy, I think it has to be specified what we’re talking about, right? Because there’s a lot of it’s like, do you actually have energy?
What type of energy are you putting out? How do you create energy, all of this stuff? And so for me at this point, because I’ve been down the rabbit hole of manifestation, you know, for 20 years, I have taught it, I have disagreed with it. And I’ve really come to a place where it’s more About being whole. To me, that’s more how I view it. Like, I want you to feel comfortable around me, and therefore I need to be comfortable around me. Right? I want you to feel safe around me.
Therefore, I need to feel safe within my own body and nervous system. So yeah, I think it’s much more of a nervous system game than it is anything else. And it’s not to say we can’t be dysregulated because I get dysregulated every single day, I will just say that there are periods of time, and periods of time within each day that I feel stressed, I feel overwhelmed. That wouldn’t be like attractive, right? The technically attractive ways of being and honestly, I just don’t do videos, man.
So I don’t know if there’s some big secret to this. You might look at my page and be like, Wow, in general, she seems to have a certain type of energy. But it’s like, well, in general, that’s when I hit record. Like, when I actually have that energy, like this week, I kind of have some personal stuff with my family. And I also have PMS. And I’m in perimenopause now. So it’s different, like I get more tired. And so I don’t know, I didn’t record any videos today, because I feel like I would be have a drained type of energy. And I don’t want to it’s because I don’t want to show that or and maybe I would if that was part of the message. It’s not a judgment on it. It’s just like, I don’t feel like it. To be truthful.
Quianna Marie
Yeah, I love that. And I think that’s a beautiful way of kind of navigating our, our energy where and when I think when I think energy to like you mentioned it can go in seven different ways, right? Are we talking about are normally are we talking about woowoo? But sometimes I think with energy. But you know, because even colors, right? You can think there are so many different ways. Yeah. And just like you mentioned.
For example, when I think of energy and showing up online and, and creating your calendar and creating content, I almost think of like those, like you’re playing a video game, and you have that life bar ahead of you. And you’re like, are you in the green? Are you in the yellow? Oh my gosh, are you in the red? Like, are you gonna die? Or are you just gonna lose a life or something? And I think I think it’s important for us to regulate that and to recognize when we’re feeling certain ways, so you can step up. And I love how you mentioned, like you literally gave us permission to say, if you’re not feeling it, if you’re highly emotional, or maybe you’re stressed, it’s okay. You don’t have to create today. And I love that permission slip.
Jaya Rose
No, I think that’s really important. And I also just a disclaimer, I think it’s easy for me to say that at this point. So at the beginning of anything, we need some muscle, right, we need to build momentum. And that isn’t always easy. So as much as I’m like, yo, do your business your way. And let’s make it as easy as possible. At the beginning, when I first started doing videos, which was eight years ago, it did feel more like Oh, I better put this out there.
Now I have a brand that’s developed, I have, you know, ongoing, some ongoing passive income, I know that people aren’t going to forget who I am if I don’t post for a few days, right. But at the beginning, you might feel like they well. I will just say from not point of view from everyone is not where I am. And it might feel easier for me to just take take the day off or take multiple days off. I will say it’s funny, I just did a training this morning in being well known membership. And we talk all about this stuff. It’s like how to show up consistently, but mostly how to show up consistently for yourself. And what I really believe is that your story is medicine. And that doesn’t just mean your trauma stories or your big inspiration stories.
But literally the way you live your life is medicine to someone else if you’re willing to share it in that way. So for example, like you just said, Well, you just gave us permission to take some time off. You know, even if you’re at the beginning of your business, or somewhere where you’re like, I can’t really take time off. Just remember that even if you’re going through some shit. And you’re not showing up as consistently, that story that you can tell around that when you do show back up.
Say for example, you teach self care. And you’re like, I’ve got to put my content out and then you don’t show up for three days because you are going through something, that next video, make that a story. Because your story is medicine. And the story of it is what will actually truly connect with people and you can reinforce your whole message. I could help anybody reinforce their message in their niche like this. Okay, so self care might seem easy, because you could come back in and say, Listen, I know I preach self care every day and then we reality as I was going through some major stuff the last few days, I didn’t take care of myself. And that was my self care. Sometimes self care looks like avoiding everything in your life, like, Oh, right. Oh, yeah,
Quianna Marie
that were full, I got the chills.
Jaya Rose
I’m like, me too, I just made that up, you know what I mean? But it’s like, it’s like, think about that you could have shown up consistently through those days, but sort of been dragging. So if we were to put a number to like one through 1010, you have the best, most energy you’re on point on your video. And like a five, you’re just sort of like mediocre feeling.
Okay? Say you put out five videos over those three days, and they were all five, you could have literally not done any of those videos, and then come in with that 10 story. And that doesn’t mean you have to have the highest energy, it means it’s the most potent, right. And I think that’s a cool way to look at it too. Sometimes you’re the most potent in your grief, or in your overwhelm. It’s just your truth, really. That’s how I like to look at it. And I think that you can apply that no matter at what phase you’re in, you can apply that the story you’re going through what you’re experiencing right now can be turned into medicine, and message for your community for the people who like to listen to you. And that is way more powerful than judging yourself for not showing up.
Quianna Marie
Wow, that was so beautifully said and so many golden nuggets in there. I just yeah, I’m just I’m so inspired by you with all of these little things where you’re like, it matters by what you’re saying. And the fact that you mentioned that our stories are a medicine, and I almost can take it because I love you know, I have seven things going on in my mind at one. And I Oh, look. Yeah.
I love like the first thing that came to my mind too, is thinking, the stories that we’re telling ourselves. Yeah. Why? Yeah. So it’s not just our stories that we’re trying to connect with others. And we’re trying to maybe, you know, share a story, but then we’re always trying to, like in between the lines share about our products or offers. Yeah, which is a whole other game. But but the stories that we tell ourselves like that is really powerful.
Jaya Rose
So powerful. And those become the stories that we tell other people. Because if you’re telling yourself the story, that you’re not good enough, or that your business is going to fail, because you didn’t show up for a few days or a week or a month, then that is the story that exists. But if you tell yourself the story, that there’s something here for me, there’s something here for me, and I trust that all be able to communicate this in a powerful way at some point. Yes. Oh my God, that’s a really different story. And the whole way it’s gonna play out is going to be different because of that. So I mean, is that kind of what you’re saying? Yeah. Yeah,
Quianna Marie
exactly. Well, I know, okay, so you have tons of education and offers. You have coaching and mentoring and even a membership community to help us show up online scale, and become trustworthy leaders and builds, I love your hustle free culture that you’re you’re sharing. And before we dive into all of that, because you have so many juicy offers and things to share, I would love to know Jaya, what advice would you give to someone that’s passionate about their business? But feeling burned out?
Jaya Rose
Well, I would first assess the level of burnout. So is this like burnt out? Because it’s 3pm? And you did a lot today? Or are you burnt out? Because it’s months and months of stress? Is your nervous system hasn’t been on regulated for a period of time, right? Are your adrenal glands compromised? So first, I would assess that because I think that we use the word burnout as a broad spectrum.
I think sometimes it just means overwhelmed. Or sometimes it means stressed. And I mean, listen, we’ve all, you know, a lot of us who’ve experienced the gamut of these things. So yes, first, I would encourage anybody to identify what do I actually need here? Right? Like, what do I need to be able to recover and heal from this burnout, whether it’s just a 3pm situation? Or it’s, you know, months and months of something going on? I would say something different to each of those people?
Quianna Marie
Yeah, maybe the 3pm Or because I feel like that is something that’s something too, I wanted to mention, kind of as a blanket statement for you. And your content is, you’re always telling, you know, you’re sharing to get out of your comfort zone and energy levels, all these things, but I love how you’re also pushing us out of that comfort zone. Right. And so I think sometimes, like you mentioned just now, you know, is this a really big burnout? Like, have you been trying something for so long and it’s just not getting the results that you know.
Do you deserve or that you’ve worked for? Or do you just need a nap? Like what’s happening? And solo? Totally? Yes, maybe both? All the things. But yeah, I would love your advice for like that three o’clock person that’s like, I’m just little burnout and gotta get this done. Like, what’s your advice for that?
Jaya Rose
Yeah, well, right. It’s like you have a deadline. My advice, I wonder if it would really work broad for people, because I run everything really based on my own neuro divergence, and how my brain works and what motivates me. So the encouragement I have is really to understand for yourself, what motivates you, and also what your limits are. So I am personally not interested in pushing myself past my limits. My comfort zone is different than my limitations.
I’m not trying to bust through any upper limits are limited. I don’t, I don’t care about any of that. Right? Because that leads to burnout for me, and not in a pretty way. And so yeah, I would just really look at like, what do you specifically need? So here’s an example. I know for me, I’m motivated by deadlines. Someone else might call this procrastination. I’ve heard weird, I don’t know why they say that. I call it being motivated by a deadline.
So for example, in my membership, there are three missions. And I built the memberships so that the missions would come out the first three months. So the people who signed up at the beginning, don’t have access to everything. We’re like the person who signs up at the fourth month, well, then already have it. All right, got it. And I did that very intentionally, so that I didn’t have to front load a bunch of stuff, and create a bunch of stuff, because I know for me, immediate overwhelm. And when I feel overwhelmed, I won’t push through, I will rebel. So again, right, it’s like, I can tell you how I am for me. And if you relate, then this will be helpful. Otherwise, it’s about you figuring out how you respond to those pressures. I don’t I like the pressure of a deadline. But I don’t like the pressure of too many things on my plate. Those are two different things. Do you see what I’m saying?
So for me, it has to be a very specific amount of work. So splitting it up into three missions, I record about four or five videos that are about 10 minutes long, right? I could technically sit down and do that in about an hour. But I like to split it up into maybe two times. I make a couple of workbooks, like technically, somebody could do this in a day, okay, if I’m just honest, you really somebody could do it to say, Oh, I’m going to prep all the content for my membership in the next four days.
Maybe that would be fine. For so a lot of people that might be totally fine. Again, it wouldn’t be for me. So I have the next mission, which will be the third mission I’ve created. It comes out on Monday, because it will be the first Monday of the month. I will be creating that up until a couple hours before it goes out. So I’m Sunday, I’m going to create an Monday I’m going to create so I give myself two days to do what would be for some people one day, and it’s right up against the deadline. Because otherwise, I won’t fucking do
Quianna Marie
it. Yeah, absolutely. All right.
Jaya Rose
Yeah. And that’s how ADHD and autism work together. Okay, yeah, there’s really, because that is literally all just built around my own neuro divergence and what I need to thrive. And really, as an entrepreneur, this is the super, it’s like the super sauce is to know this, because I, I definitely can get projects done. And I do, and I’m always on time, but again, for me not putting too much on my plate, and also leveraging the timeline. That’s the magic for me.
So if you are getting overwhelmed on a daily basis at 3pm, you have too much on your plate. If you are not getting enough projects done, your project timeline is not set up for you to actually thrive. So we got to look at these things and you’re, maybe you’re gonna go slower than you wanted. You know, I am not some, like scale beyond the moon in the first 30 days, or whatever. This is, you know, a lifelong commitment for me to be an entrepreneur and, and so you know, what is? What is the hurry? Yeah.
Quianna Marie
Oh my gosh, I love that. And I feel like I can I for sure can relate to that, where I have too much on my plate. I have so many ideas, I am a content generator, I have everybody I have all the best ideas for everybody else to do. And then when it comes to me, I’m sitting there overwhelmed and things always get done, but I loved how you mentioned like we need to figure that out like what are those deadlines and what is on your plate without making you feel stressed? And then and then avoiding it. Because that’s what happens is you just want to take a nap.
Jaya Rose
No, it’s so true, because you will you’ll check out. We all know how to do that. And it takes time, right? It’s trial and error. And sometimes you got to do it wrong to get it right. And, but I do think that it is a good reminder for everyone listening to take a look at how you have these things set up, especially if you are an entrepreneur, don’t forget that you have the power. You get to create it how you want it. And I do think a lot of people forget that, especially if they come from corporate or working for someone else. So it’s a good reminder.
Quianna Marie
Yes, yeah, we’re the only ones putting on those deadlines. And those time checks for ourselves. Not funny.
Jaya Rose
Yeah, it’s like you’re creating it, but you’re making it stressful why? That would be the next question. Why? I don’t know. There’s a reason. You’re right. Yes, I think it’s your it’s your, like, I am really bad with stress. Some people can manage stress pretty well. And I think that’s a weird thing to say. But that just means like you can hold more stress for a longer period of time. Before having a meltdown. Right? I will have a meltdown right away with stress. I’m, it’s very bad for me. So I’ve spent my whole life avoiding it. And that’s why I’m an entrepreneur. And I’ve never worked for anyone else. Because I couldn’t, I couldn’t. And I’ve had to learn how to work with myself. And truth be told, you know, Life is stressful.
We have a 10 year old daughter, who is autistic, I have a family, we have a dog we have like just being a mom, honestly is so stressful for me. I love her. I love being a mom, but it is the most stressful thing because it’s demanding. And it’s nonstop. And so I just, I have to set up my business so that it’s easy. My business does not stress me out. I don’t think I ever when we knock on someone, yeah, I literally don’t think I ever feel stressed out about my business. And it’s not because shit is uncertain. It is uncertain. But I just can’t. I can’t because it would kill me if I was also having to deal with the stress of regular life. And the stress of running a business. Yes. So I just run the business and just assume that it’ll be fine. Work. You don’t I mean? Yeah,
Quianna Marie
yeah, no, these are all powerful statements. And I feel like a lot of us can relate to this, for sure. Now, I would love to chat a little bit more about video. And I would love to hear about the mindset shift that you had to make to show up online with confidence. What what is it that really, really helped you show up online?
Jaya Rose
That’s funny, because this is exactly what I was also talking about in the training and being well known today. But it’s this idea of zooming in and zooming out. So you know, we have the ability to be really zoomed in. So for example, what should I write on this video? How should I look? Where should I put the camera, right? We make all these micro decisions that we make a big fucking deal, right? A lot of people, especially around like, what should I say that’s a very hard one for a lot of people.
I love to empower my students to remember that that is a very zoomed in place when you’re feeling anxiety and overwhelm and stress around creating content or showing me showing up on video, fax micro, and not not to take away from how it feels. It feels big. It feels big to you. But let’s remember by consciously zooming out, okay, so what zooming out looks like, and I don’t just mean like, now I’m not doing that. Right? Not like turn away from it. But literally zoom out to what your impact is, and what you desire.
So for me, the motivation to start showing up online was from something way greater than like, because I wanted to make a video. I did not want to make a video, I wanted to change my life. I wanted to create an impact. And I wanted to use what I believe are my gifts in a way that felt like I was living to a potential. That’s what I decided I wanted. And in that vision, I’ve envisioned myself on stage in front of 10,000 people, Hey, this is my like, big vision. Right?
I know that in order to do that, I’ve got to really have something to say. I probably also will have spoken a lot before that and I will have helped a lot of people probably a lot of people will already know who I am. Um, by the time I get to that place, I would have to have integrity. Because how am I gonna get there if I don’t, right? And so it’s like, that vision is really what me making a video means. Okay?
Because the business online and having the ability to make passive income or just make a bigger impact is also in alignment with that, having a podcast being on a podcast, also in alignment with that big vision. And every single video I make is also in alignment with that, and it also builds my business. So it’s like a, you know, they work together. And so when you say like a mindset shift, I think there were some initial mindset shifts that prompted me to start taking action towards this vision and this dream. But on a daily basis, it’s really a decision to be aware enough to know what your where you are, like, where am I am I in anxiety, oh, I have to record a video. I’ve pulled up my phone and gotten on Tik Tok, and just looked at it. Because I like I told you, I’m just not feeling that great these last few days.
I literally put put it down. Because if I were to zoom in, without, I don’t care about my big vision today, I don’t care about being on stage and right in front of 10,000 people or helping more people, I don’t care because I don’t feel nourished. And I don’t feel up to par. Right. So sometimes you gotta just cut it and like, get out of the drama of zooming in. If you are zoomed in and stressed out, zoom out. If that doesn’t motivate you let it go. Because our big vision should be motivating us. Right? You got to pick a vision that motivates you to continue moving towards it.
Quianna Marie
Oh, I love that. And I feel like that actually gives us all a breath of fresh air to remind us that all these videos are making are just puzzle pieces. Yeah, right. I think sometimes we’re like, oh, okay, this video. Oh, it’s gonna go big, right? Like we we have all the intention. And sometimes like, as you know, with tick tock. It could be of course the the one that took you 10 seconds. Yeah, it could be the next one.
Maybe the one that goes viral is the one you took 10 seconds to make incident in front seat of your car. Like there’s no strategy to this, right. Like, we’re just we’re just getting it out there. And so I just love that reminder of zooming out. And then when I see it zoom out, like, I think big picture, I think whoa, like, what is that mission? What is that part? And how does that align with almost like a whole bunch of little tiny flashlights, right? Like all these videos are little tiny flashlights, I love that create that beam of light, like, actually what it’s about.
Jaya Rose
That’s so good. Yes, exactly. I love that. That’s what you took from it, because that’s exactly right. Yeah, it’s like, it is all seeds that you’re planting. And it’s hard, though, you know, but you it’s about your self talk and about meeting yourself and deciding that you’re going to be nice to yourself on the journey. Yes.
Quianna Marie
Oh, my gosh, all of those are so important. One thing and I know you’ve mentioned, like limiting beliefs. And you know, we’ve kind of lately talked about the highest self and all these things that we hear from all these things, what advice would you share today, to help crush those limiting beliefs? And to start actually increasing our profits? Because we can we can, you know, we can have the confidence, we could have our brand story, we can have the mission. But how are we actually making money with these videos, I would love to know, just kind of like a little highlight reel of what that process looks like to actually make profits at tick tock and with our videos.
Jaya Rose
Yeah, for sure. I mean, this is business strategy, I would say it’s two things. One, this is this is my My motto is your intuition leads, and your strategy follows. And so that this is how I’ve built my whole business. And what I encourage my students to do is follow your intuition, because the best offers you have in your business are going to come from a spark, they are not going to be a brain baby, right? They’re not going to be used sitting down. Oh, what should i What should I sell? What? No, it’s going to come from your heart. And from something bigger than you this is a creative process, as you know. Yeah.
Right. So it’s also though not random. And just we need to have business structure. So for example, when I was launching my membership, I wasn’t launching a membership. I wasn’t thinking about a membership. And then maybe I even watched a tic toc or someone was like, hey, having a membership is the best, you know what I mean? So it got in my head. And then I thought, actually, maybe I could do that.
Now, I’ve been avoided avoiding it because I didn’t want to commit because they are a big commitment. And then you don’t make very much money, usually in the first six months to a year, you know, but then you could make like $50,000 passive income. It’s like it’s a weird kind of an offer. And you’ve got to be really committed to the message and to the community, and to the for the long haul, right? So as I was thinking about that, I have the structure like, I’m like, I understand what a membership is, I understand the work of it. But then I just kind of like, let it sit, and it came through, like, if I was going to do a membership, what would I do it on.
So I think this is a cool way to prompt your creativity, it’s like you have you know, the structure, but then let’s allow the intuition to lead the way, it really truly is the leader, because there is no movement yet. There’s just like this idea of a structure. So then the idea of being well known came through, because something I teach in branding is called having an aspirational identity for your audience. So it’s like your ideal audience archetype. And within that, they are desiring something that your work helps them with. And that is to become or experience something new in their life, right.
This is called their aspirational identity. And this is where we want to speak to this, because this is like for you, you even said these words, when we got on something about being well known. And I’m like, literally, that’s the name of my membership. Yeah, right, like you resonate with my message, because I’m talking to you, because I thought about who I want to talk to. And the the identity is like that just came through as I was like, I know that the people who are attracted to my work want to become well known for their work. So boom, it just fell in alignment, right. But it was a co creative process.
So my my point and telling you, all of that is to say, you want to look at many things, when you’re building out the back end of your business. If you’re just getting started, and you literally aren’t selling anything yet. First of all, we need to know what your skills are, what your abilities are, what your knowledge is, what your expertise is, right? Then we’re going to take all of that, and we’re going to say, great, you’re a good teacher, you know how to teach these types of people, and you’re going to design an offer that way, but then co create it with and let your imagination and your creativity flow. So that you can come up with something that actually you’re excited about. I mean, there’s a lot of answers I could give you about the back end of a business. And I could get really nerdy about how to set up the back end of a business. But it really depends what phase you’re in. Oh, yeah.
Quianna Marie
And that’s, that’s one thing that I struggle with as well is there’s literally 27 different ways to produce, sell package offer, like wrap up, deliver whatever you want to call it, like there’s 27 ways to do it. And it can also be really stifling or kind of like create speed bumps for you. Because you have that inherent Spark, like you mentioned, you have that that idea your intuition is pushing you you’re like this doesn’t exist, and I need to create it. And or maybe it does exist, but you want to put your spin on it.
You have your own interpretation of it that you can’t wait to share. But then you’re like, oh, wait, but there’s memberships. And then there’s Facebook, and horses and horses and Oh, Evergreen, oh, no, don’t tell evergreen, we need a live launch. Like there’s all these different ways. And so that can be really overwhelming.
Jaya Rose
It is. No, it totally is. And that’s when you hire a business coach. Just to be honest, I’m not going to toot my own horn here. But honestly, this is when you need to hire me for my coaching intensive, because it’s not the hugest investment. And it’s so frickin worth it. Because when you talk to somebody, whether it’s me or someone else who has the knowledge, I could literally lay out for you. Here’s what a membership is going to take from you. Okay, here’s how it can benefit your business. Here’s how it can benefit your students. Here’s what a course looks like. What a group program looks like, here’s you need you need to talk to somebody who has experience with at all who then can help you understand what would work best for you. And your lifestyle and your energy.
That’s, yeah, you can’t figure it all out your own. I mean, I’ve spent at least $200,000 on coaches in the last eight years. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You know, and not all of them had a big ROI. The best investments I’ve made recently, and really the only ones I’ve made are for intensives that’s why I love them. It’s like $1,000 You know, depending on who you are, that can be a lot of money. But if you’re investing in your business $1,000 is a really great place to start. Because, for example, that’s what my A coaching intensive is by no that I can help somebody get enough clarity to make back 10 times that amount of money. And so that’s what I’ve done more recently is just hired specialists to do this certain thing, versus, you know, this like six month coaching package where I’m gonna be, you know, whatever up leveling all these things.
Quianna Marie
It can be so overwhelming, but I love that and so I feel okay, so I so I love our conversations because I in my head, this is how crazy I am. I’m like going through a timeline, right. So someone who is, you know, discovering their voice, regulating regulating their energy, they already have their offer and mine, they’re getting more confident showing up online. And, and you know, they’re just, they’re just really excited to share their ways. And let’s say it is time to invest in a coach, obviously, you’re highly recommended, I would love to share your insight on maybe some x or some red flags to watch out for for some in the online coaching space. Oh, for
Jaya Rose
sure. And thank you for that. I don’t take that lightly, because so many people have been burned. You don’t know how many people have come to me telling me that they were sold into something. It was $5,000 they didn’t get what they wanted, you know, and so many people have told me I really want to work with you. But I spent all my money on this other thing that isn’t working for me. And I’m like, Oh, I don’t like this.
So if I can help anybody, you know, be steered in the right direction, like I said, whether it’s me or someone else that has integrity, that’s what I would recommend. Number one, question someone’s lifestyle. I have personally hired too many coaches that I would never want to emulate their lifestyle, yet they’re teaching me a business model. Right? So think about lifestyle more than money. And I think it’s super easy. I see the coaches on Tik Tok making $50,000 a month. And that’s, you know, that’s not a lifestyle. Being rich is not a lifestyle. That is just a number in a bank.
Quianna Marie
I hate to feel that, like my whole body is going wrong. Like I can feel that I love that response. Yes, right?
Jaya Rose
It’s not. And so just because somebody makes $50,000 a month and you want to make $50,000 a month does not mean you have alignment. So I would question your own values. For me, I value time freedom, I value stress free, right? You got you already know, just from this podcast and number of things that I value. And so knowing what you value that is the cornerstone to picking a good coach. And I didn’t for a long time I had to learn, I’d be like, Oh, whoops, I value actually, here’s what I value. So I would really look for for somebody who’s willing to share, what are they actually do on the back end. So if somebody and they’re making $50,000 a month, but they’re coaching five hours a day, or they have six clients, you know, six clients a day, I cannot do that I would be exhausted, you know?
Or do they have a group model where they have 25 people in the group, and each person gets a hot seat coaching once a month? Well, that also wouldn’t work for me, because there’s not enough intimacy involved in that. Right. So what offers do they have? What is it costing them to run that business? And are you willing to pay that? And I’m not talking money, right? Yeah. So these are this is it takes a little bit more digging, and you have to go beyond that flashy, like, Oh, they’re activating me just because somebody’s activating you, doesn’t mean you should pay them. 1015 $20,000. Okay. And that is it’s so fucked up. How manipulative the marketing has become that I think people will actually say that if you’re activated by my message, then it means no, it doesn’t. It just, it might just mean I’m inspired. Or it might mean I’m triggered. Yeah, I don’t know.
Quianna Marie
You’re feeling something? Yeah, totally.
Jaya Rose
So I think moving into our logical brain to make choices around money is pretty powerful. Because money is a really logical thing. As much as people want to say that it’s energy and you just attract it and you just be in the all the stuff. Yes, I believe that you can attract money or like create money, beyond whatever you can see right now. I think there is more potential than we allow ourselves. Also, it is very practical thing. Right numbers. Like it’s all the very practical side of our brain. Yeah. So use that when you’re looking at somebody and really, yes, use your intuition and your you know, your gut feelings. I love that for you. And also, make sure sure that that person is aligned with your values? Yeah,
Quianna Marie
well, and I think it’s important to, like you said, like, you know, I feel like now, we are so much closer to our money into our decisions, and we want to put our money to things that we align with. And I think that that does take some digging, it does take some, like you said, like some history lessons and some recognition of the person that you’re willing to invest in.
Jaya Rose
Totally. And it’s also why I recommend people share their values. You know, I think most people who follow me for any length of time pretty much know what my opinion is about things. Or you could probably guess what, I don’t know. What do you think?
Quianna Marie
Yeah, um, I don’t know. It’s yeah, I feel like people are gonna have assumptions. And yeah, I think so. I think it’s just how you show up and how you need even made some posts to err on my goal. Yeah, okay. Yeah. Yes, yes. I know where she lies. Yeah, absolutely.
Jaya Rose
Yeah, I think it’s important, because it’s easy to get caught up in the shiny object, you know, but I think we need to look deeper in all of our like, we need to vote with our dollar, you know?
Quianna Marie
Yes. Well, and I think that’s a beautiful reminder to is us, having the ability to be entrepreneurs into how these glass ceilings that we can shatter. Like that was a huge money shift for me personally, was, the more money I make, the more generous I can be. Yeah, and the more change that I can make, and, and I feel like, you know, everyone has their own different money, stories, and a different, you know, just beliefs about money. And it can be really tricky, and it can, oh, more money, more problems and all these things. But like, think about how much more amazing our world would be with people with hearts, and really awesome missions had more money. All of that trickles back into showing up online, sharing your voice and just really making an impact with what you can right now. And allow it to be magnified. I love that.
Jaya Rose
I love that. You just said it. That’s great.
Quianna Marie
Oh, my goodness. Well, thank you, Jaya. So I would love to learn a little bit more about your program. So if someone is interested in learning more about scaling, and tapping into that hustle free culture, and regulating our energy and all this really good stuff that you have to offer, share a little bit about your programs and we got going on and how we can work with you.
Jaya Rose
Yes. So I mentioned my membership a couple times, while we were talking, that is a really great place to start. If you’re wanting to be more visible online, get clear on what your brand voice is, and how to use video and how to make sales from your videos. Those are the core things that we focus on in there. And it has such a great community, you get to ask me questions a couple times a month, I do live Q and A’s, and then a live training each month.
So it’s really amazing way to work with me that is so so much lower costs than any type of coaching would be. So that’s my core offer. And then I do have coaching, I customize all my coaching. So I have my intensives which are really popular with people, because they’re just 999 you get an hour with me, then you get a week of voice messaging and a 30 minute follow up. So it’s like this super power packed coaching experience that is guaranteed amazing breakthroughs.
I had one girl who had was so confused. She was right where you were talking about where it’s like, what do I do, there’s memberships there’s, there’s all this stuff. Stuck in spinning her wheels. She did a 90 minute intensive with me, we picked what I call your super niche, which is like the niche that you only you could do. And we created her message. She put out a tick tock. It went viral. She didn’t even have an offer yet. And she quickly created a $27 ebook to support the message that she had put out. She’s sold $24,000 Oh my gosh, have a $27 ebook. Is this wild? It is no wild to me. But that is the power of clarity. Plus, she has a really powerful, unique message.
She’s indigenous Hawaiian. And her message is all about spirituality and coming back to the indigenous teachings. So literally, she is almost the only person who could do this right and she’s on tick tock and you know, has her voice being relevant. So it’s really powerful. But that was from just a, you know, just a coaching intensive. Yeah, just the power of being able to have someone else hold a space to create clarity and my gift happens to be listening and being able to pull out the potent messaging that’s within your story and within like what you’re already doing so, so highly recommend that So you can find out all that information on my site, which I think you’ll link. Yes, absolutely.
Quianna Marie
Yes. Oh, my goodness. Well, I would love So one question I love asking every guest is what would be your key tip for entrepreneurs or small business owners, maybe words of advice that you would have wish you would have, like something you would have known years ago that you’d like to share,
Jaya Rose
it’s going to feel the hardest. To start anything new, no matter how good you are at something. When you start something new, like putting yourself out there online, or starting, you know, short form video, it’s going to feel the hardest, then, and you’re gonna have the biggest critic in your own mind, and you’re gonna have the least support externally. It’s so messed up. This is like, this is not great advice. But this is true, right? This is validation to say, when you’re first getting started, you do not have that support, where someone like me, I could be like, Oh, I’m having a hard time and you know, maybe 20 people will comment and I’ll, I’ll feel better.
You don’t have that at the beginning. And so this is the time to reinforce your vision, and to be so clear about why you’re doing what you’re doing. Because you have to become your own cheerleader, your own best friend, and really your own audience, like watch your own video back as if it’s the best shit you’ve ever seen in your life. And allow it to not matter that you don’t have that reinforcement from the external world yet. Oh,
Quianna Marie
that’s amazing advice. And really, once again, a breath of fresh air and a reminder that you just have to start like you just have to start and I love to. And I’m sure you can relate to this as well. But sometimes we have to speak our heart, we have to get the words out through like the messy muddy middle to then find alignment. Like you just start just start.
Jaya Rose
It’s so true, but it’s like it. That is the hardest part. So maybe just validate yourself. Okay. I’m doing the hardest part, you know?
Quianna Marie
Yes. Yes. Oh, my goodness. Well, thank you so much. I appreciate you and your time, all of your words of wisdom and your relatability To be honest, like just an encouragement to help us all shine online, get our words and our voice out there and have fun on tick tock, let’s just have some fun.
