When was the last time you celebrated something? Not your child’s recent birthday, attending a destination wedding or clinking glasses to celebrate good friends and good food? Finally making time to connect with your besties I’m asking you when was the last time you celebrated yourself. With this huge milestone of hitting 100 episodes on Quianna Marie weekly.
I am so freakin thankful and happy to celebrate. Yes, I’m making a big deal about this and celebrating this accomplishment Not to brag or toss confetti to bring all eyes on me. I’m celebrating this episode to remind you that we all need to be celebrating every little thing. I’m talking about finding the best parking space and not just a spot up front. But when there’s enough room where you know, your door isn’t gonna get dinged and it’s under the shade.
Yes, we need to celebrate that. I’m talking about planning a taco Tuesday night because you have leftover chicken and fresh lines to use. You better use those lines before they go bad. And this is a great excuse to grab those margaritas and celebrate that. I’m talking about the sigh of relief when someone cancels plans that the extroverted version of yourself committed to before confirming with the introverted version, and the overstimulated and tired version of yourself.
Let’s take off our bras and jump on the couch to celebrate that win every milestone accomplishment and just because moments must be celebrated. You see when we take the time to celebrate the tiny stuff. It’s like a green light for more opportunities and possibilities to flood. I’m thankful you’re here to celebrate 100 episodes. In today’s chat, I’ll be sharing about the power of celebration. Together we’ll unpack why celebrating your life or exactly where you are today is the most impactful way to appreciate your past and look forward to your future. Let’s get this party started.

What’s stopping you from celebrating your life? Are you nervous to come off as braggy? Are you shameful for your success because others don’t possess your skills or your opportunities? Nervous to take up space, or one of my own personal insecurities is to feel unworthy of success. The idea of reaching a new level to simply lose it can be really scary. Now I have no fear of fear.
I do scary things every day. I step in front of large crowds on stages and make grammar mistakes on the daily shout out to Mr. Ileana for Leland High School. Sidenote, yes, I graduated from the same high school as Pat Tillman. But anyway, many things to miss early on at my sophomore English teacher for sharing that I’m often making grammar mistakes, and skipping whole prepositions because my brain is going faster than my hands can write, or my fingers can type.
That message pushed me forward to keep blogging, writing and sharing stories online. Because my fear of not helping someone was greater than my own fear of looking dumb on social media. What I truly fear is success.
I fear making money that I cannot hold. I fear growth and expansion, mostly for the fear of losing something I don’t have. Fear is misplaced trust. As a visual person, I challenge you to think about that for a second. When you have fear, even the tiniest feelings of fear, like running out of your favorite coffee creamer to the big stuff, like the fear of losing someone you love. Fear always boils down to misplaced trust. I have my own belief in God.
And I imagine you have your own beliefs as well. Maybe your faith, trust in source, the universe, or simply trust in yourself or in nature, personally, I believe are all the same with just different definitions. But let’s not get into that. Let’s get into the juicy stuff about fear and crushing those thoughts with celebration. So what exactly does fear have to do with celebrating?
As an entrepreneur and business owner? I feel like we’re numb to talking about fear. It’s on every other meme in our feeds on social media and everyone is talking about the fear and doing it anyway. You got to feel that fear and do it anyway. But what about toasting to yourself? I find that when I make time to celebrate my wins and either my failures I continue to grow Oh, but I just way more fun doing it. Let’s break down a handful of milestones to celebrate everything from the big things to the little things and everything in between will not only cover what to celebrate, but how. How are you celebrating these wins and failures?

Let’s get this party started many of these checkpoints maybe in the past for you. But don’t let that stop you from celebrating anniversaries or birthdays of these dates. When did you first pick up your camera or start offering your services? What season in your life? Did you realize wow, someone just paid me can I actually make money doing what I love? When did you officially start your business? Then What date did you make it official and start paying taxes. No more fear, more celebrating!
As entrepreneurs we typically have about three to five actual starting dates, celebrate them all. This August I’ll be celebrating 11 years in business since I created my business license and officially received my EIN number. But I’ve been shooting weddings for over 15 years.
See how hard it is to narrow down exactly one day to celebrate plan a party for all of them. Just like when you meet your person. You have a first date date, a first kiss date, the proposal date to celebrate wedding anniversaries, Valentine’s Days, family anniversaries that I love calling family birthdays, I think it is so freakin cute.
I can’t wait when I finally get married to every year after that start calling it our family birthday. And literally having a cake and I just see celebrated my future babies. It just makes me so happy. We don’t need a man or partner in our life to give us a reason to party. So I want to clarify that right now we do not need another person, we do not need fate, or a choice or decision depending on someone else, to have that worthiness to be celebrated.
Let’s get back to more reasons to celebrate yourself. When did you book your first destination wedding? What video was the first to go viral? Have you ever photographed a wedding when a past couple was there and a wedding party or maybe even as guests do you absolutely have to pause either at that reception or during that cocktail hour.
If they’re already kind of grouping to take photos and put yourself in that picture. Okay, put yourself in that picture and celebrate that, that you have multiple couples at that same wedding. Hello, that is just a beautiful way to market yourself and your business and to celebrate those couples. When did you drop your first camera in the river? Okay, now, I hope that never happens. But if it did, let’s chat about how that’ll never happened again. Right?
So you’re not trying to like create this pity party for yourself, or make people feel sorry for you or even stress that you know that this could happen in the future in their images, maybe at risk. Like we’re not playing that game. But if it genuinely happened to you, and like the world didn’t end because of an event like that. It’s okay to share about it.
Okay. Do you remember a time when you book your first signature wedding? And I’m talking about that one in that you were standing in front of the ceremony space or in the reception hall? And you literally lost your breath thinking I made it when you celebrate that? Even if you haven’t hit those milestones yet. They’re coming soon, babe, I promise. Have you made your first hire or invested in an editor? You bet your booty we’re celebrating that milestone.
Now these are all very photography and business heavy reasons to party. But you can apply these same milestones to your own business and your own passions as well. Now let’s take a note of personal accomplishments and failures to celebrate. How often do you celebrate friendship anniversaries? My very best friend Sarah and I have been friends for over 30 years and we still have coffee mornings together every week. Love playdates with her pups and enjoy playing card games while still standing side by side during life’s happiest and hardest moments.
Did you just clean out your car that deserves a celebration? Did you finally just throw away the Tupperware with a bodybuilders tan because that’s the get you seen is never coming out. Let’s celebrate that.
Maybe you sent three emails that you’ve been dreading go by a plant. Like literally, if it is if it did that much energy and you’re just like that much effort to send those emails or return those phone calls. Babe, you deserve a plan to go by a plant when you hit the grocery store today. Did you make time to rest? Personally, I feel like like such a lazy POS if I make time to rest, and it’s just such a big deal for me.
How can you stat crushing your fear if you’re not celebrating the small things? So for me to just find that time to stop and to breathe and be really intentional about taking breaks, I need to celebrate that it’s almost like a new double whammy. It’s like I need to make time to take a break and rest. Because that’s what feels good. And that’s a way for me to celebrate. But then I also need to just celebrate that in general, because it’s really hard for me to pause. Is it a Thursday morning, that’s a great time to pull an affirmation card while you’re sipping your coffee and to be thankful for your life. Are you camping and sitting around a campfire?
Let’s dance baby! You know that if we were camping together, we would be dancing by the river, we would be dancing under the moonlight next to the fire and just having so much fun. Do you have a full tank of gas in your car? You see, there are so many things big and small to celebrate. Now let’s chat about how you’re celebrating and how exactly we crush our fears by dancing and celebrating. Thankfully, Facebook has that memories feature.
We can see pop up dates have milestones of the past, after we delete or scroll right past our exes, or maybe delete or even lock some of those wild nights that shouldn’t even have their own Facebook album anymore. You know exactly what I’m talking about. I hope you find some hidden gems of your past to highlight and repost, celebrating these things doesn’t have to cost money. Maybe it’s just pausing while you’re sipping your iced coffee to reflect on your achievement.
Maybe it’s breaking a bedtime with your children to let them crash on the couch for one more movie, celebrating can simply be taking a nap. I look forward to things on my calendar. And if I don’t have anything to look forward to I make something up. When mom and I first moved here to Arizona, it was so important to us to create some traditions.
One party we look forward to every year is the witchy women celebration, every full moon in October. This year, we’ll be celebrating our fourth annual party. Oh my gosh, it’s literally my favorite time of the year. It’s finally starting to cool down here in Arizona and all of our family and closest friends we that are here in Arizona. You know, we break out our witchy woman hats and we have some snacks. We’ve done sound baths before, you know we we pull affirmation cards and we burn some things like some fears and limiting beliefs like we actually light it on fire. It’s it’s so fun. It can be a little woowoo but it’s not like anything too. witchy. So it’s just it’s just really fun.
When I surround myself with peace, joy, love and excitement, my fears always disappear. They literally disappear. I find myself trusting myself more and leaning more into my faith. Yes, the fear always creeps back up. But I noticed that the more I celebrate the more fear pops up like a weed instead of constantly living in fear. I hope this episode sparks joy. And as your reminder to celebrate your life. You may not be exactly where you want to be. But you have the power to grow bed. I challenge you this week to celebrate yourself. Please take a photo or repost something worthy of celebrating. It could be so tiny. Could be really really big or anything in between. It could be personal.
It could be for your business. It could be a wildest dream, it could be something you’re working towards. What are you celebrating? I love educating and encouraging you to truly be the best version of yourself over the last year and a half. I’ve been almost two years now. Oh my gosh, I think this October we’re celebrating two years with the podcast. And it just it just makes me want to cry. I want to share a special shout out to my friend Tara Dunn who helped photograph this big huge milestone for me. And that’s something that I didn’t actually mention, especially as photographers.
One great way to celebrate a milestone is to plan a photoshoot plan something worth documenting Right? Like yes, we can pause for a coffee. Yes, we can pause and have a little mini celebration or dance party in our kitchen. But there’s something really powerful about a time timeline checkpoint, or just like a milestone to actually photograph create those tangible moments that you can print.
You can hang on the walls of your home and not just your Facebook walls. So anyway, back to Tara Dunn, I want to say thank you so much Babe, you have truly been such a vital part of this evolution of my business, but most importantly, my self worth of my love for myself and my gratefulness that I’ve experienced, especially over this last year, almost two years here in Arizona, and I can’t thank you enough. So if you are local to Arizona, please check out Tara Dunn.
She is an incredible photographer, a beautiful, beautiful soul that always encourages those around her and she’s an incredible photographer as well. She’s the one that does all of my brand photos and all of my content. And this was a celebration, we’re celebrating cheers to 100 episodes.
