When you find out the devastating news that your baby cousin has Leukemia what do you do? What can you do? Pray. YES. Wish for the best? Of course. There really is no greater feeling of helplessness that envelopes you when you realize that’s all you can do.
Our family, even though we have always been close, united even more for the heath and comfort of our Little Liam. Weeknights were divied up between the women for home cooked dinners and generous families (even amazing souls that we don’t even know personally) donated to his Go Fund Me Website!
I knew there was something more to be done. Something even more powerful to help bring awareness, create an even larger prayer chain, and help lesson the burden of medical bills. I wish I could write a check with a large donation to help my cousins, but unfortunately that just wasn’t the case… but I could spend a day in the park photographing families for donations!Â
And that’s exactly what we did!
June 20th we posted up at Vasona to capture memories in exchange for donations! Yes. 100% of our proceeds went right to Liam’s medical fund! Our first session began at 8:30am and we didn’t stop until the last family showed up!
Liam’s cousin Emma!
Each family created love notes in the shape of a heart…which was a great opportunity to hang out in the shade and burn some time while waiting for pictures!
Thank you Cheryl for providing snacks, waters, and all of our crafty paper, scissors and crayons for Liam’s hearts!
Thank you Anthony, Chelsea, and Audrey for driving all the way from Sacramento just for our shoot! (And such a generous donation!)
We thank the wonderful families that made the time to join us on such an epic day! Our event would not have been possible without the women in my life!
Thank you Andrea for holding down the fort, collecting consent forms, stashing the cash, and being the ultimate sunblock checker! Your event preparation and execution truly made the day a SUCCESS!
Thank you Auntie Debbie (Liam’s Nana) and Angelique (Liam’s Auntie) for joining us for the day and spreading the word! Your help and support made the day so much more  fun!
Thank you to my Mama’s! (My boyfriend’s mother Margaret and my Mama Renee!) Thanks to you two we had watermelon slices, beach chairs to take a break, entertainment for the day and unconditional love to help make the day even better!
I also (as ALWAYS) need to shout out many thanks to my brother, Mikey!
I can count on you for anything! Throwing up the pop-up like a beast, rolling out tables and chairs, lugging ice bags, and supplying our Togo’s lunch! You truly are the best behind the scenes guy anyone could ask for! Thank you!
Thank you Lauren for your help and support, too! Your heart was perfect!Â
Thank you Thomas for fueling me up with water, helping with the tear down, and never doubting my crazy ideas!
Our family truly thanks each and every one of you for your love and generosity.
I am more than excited to share that we raised over $2,000 that day!
Liam is pretty excited about that!
You can check out more images from the day here… Enjoy!
With lots and lots of love, Quianna Marie
