Let’s say you are interested in booking with a local photographer. And before you even take photos before you even start purchasing some Amazon items to be shipped to you and that two day shipping window, I really really encourage you to take a listen to this episode as I break down these really easy ways to capture a ton of content at your next brand shoot. And you all know I’m a huge fan of lists. So let’s just break it down.
Number one, before your shoot, I actually want you to start hinting about your upcoming photoshoot. This is where you can be sharing your new color palette, whether that is your brand colors, let’s say you’re doing a little website revamp, you’re actually doing a whole refresh on your website, with your colors and your brand.
Share about it give a little teaser about that. Share your outfits I love when I see influencers or just small business owners online actually take polls on outfits and say, Hey, I have a shoot coming up or I have an event coming up. Which one do you like better? Now, here’s the caveat or a little hint, you literally can pick whichever one, everyone wins.
You don’t have to wait for the polls. And you know go with what they say if you’re not feeling aligned with that, but that’s the whole point, right? You’re just boosting engagement. So pull your audience with which outputs they like which one feels like you which one feels elevated, start sharing about it and dropping those hints now, get excited about it. If you’re not excited about this shoot, and this new launch and this new identity that you’re capturing for your brand and your business, why should anybody else care, right, so start dropping those hints.
Now, number two, share about your offers before the shoot.
Get yourself talking about your business. By warming up your audience with the new offers or possibly even an upcoming launch. This is a great opportunity for you to start dropping those seeds dropping those hands about something really exciting coming soon. It’s a great way to warm up your audience and get them kind of buzzing about it without giving away too much information. Right or heck, maybe it is time to just drop the ball on the fact that you’re offering a brand new launch or a new mastermind or you’re hosting a conference or a fun event coming up soon.
Start talking about it now don’t wait until after your shoot.
Number three, get ready with me these are really fun and can be really relatable and impactful. Now this doesn’t have to be like a makeup tutorial with you getting your makeup done I’m actually embarrassed to do that I’ve never done a get ready with me where I’m actually putting makeup on because I have about three or four products that I use and I couldn’t even tell you like what color they are because they’ve just been like rubbed out on the bottom like just being thrown in my bag for years.
Yeah, don’t tell my makeup artist friends because I just I don’t have good makeup right and so that’s beside the point. I want you to feel confident showing up in any way of this capacity of the Get Ready With Me by right that could be a transition of you going from pajamas and messy hair to boom to your full glam look.
It could be you picking out your shoes for the day and saying hey, here I am digging out these shoes and The back of my closet, which one should I wear today, another kind of poll for engagement, highlight the hair and makeup squad. So even if you’re not investing in a full blown out like hair and makeup, maybe you are just going to the dry bar, for example, take a snap, whether it’s a quick photo or short video of you actually getting your hair done, that can go so long people want to relate to that, right? If they’re only seen a curated brand professional photos, those can go a long way.
But they don’t hit home. And they don’t feel as relatable unless we see these little behind the scenes clips, right. So make sure you’re capturing a ton of content for that. And then of course, as well, if you are investing in a glam squad, make sure you’re tagging them, share a little Hyperlapse of them, share them actually like the transition of you going from like bomb to glam, like whatever that looks like, make sure you’re documenting that process.
Number four, time lapse and record short videos of behind the scenes of your actual shoot. This is my favorite. I feel like a lot of us are doing this the day of but I really want to hit home the importance of actually capturing behind the scenes at your next branch shoot, this is a great way for you to show that you’re relevant to show that you’re updating your content that you have something to talk about. I feel like sometimes we work so hard and I say behind the scenes, but I want you to picture you, you know working at your kitchen table working at your office or working.
You know you like these warrior weekends anytime you can squeeze time in to get stuff done for your work. But like sometimes I feel like we just think we need to data like just all of a sudden like pull back the curtain and be so polished and glam. And that’s not true Babe, you can show up and show the nitty gritty show the progress.
I mean, this is how fixer upper on Magnolia with Chip and JoJo was so popular, right like if they just showed the final homes. I mean, I would still watch it because I love that style. And I love them but I don’t think it would be as entertaining if they didn’t show the kids coming in with dessert. So Joe Joe can you know wrap up the final touches of the night before it’s like their shows the fixer upper show is so predictable.
But yet I’m hooked right like I want to see it because I’m seeing a little pieces of their life and also them introducing their clients life as well. And then I have another little point to before we go on to tip number five, I highly encourage you depending on what your photographer allows, most will be okay with it as long as you give them a heads up based on the parameters that this is for your brand shoot. But I highly encourage you to grab some friends, I’m doing air quotes over here, some friends or maybe even past clients that you’ve worked with in the past and see if they can attend and be models for your shoot. Now, I want to be very clear with this. They’re not getting their own headshots, right. Like we’re not, you know, actually taking photos for them of them.
But the city is so great. So imagine if you’re a realtor, and you are getting your your brand photos taken and you are in this beautiful building or this office space or this like vibey lounge area, and then you guys are signing contracts together. And it could just be a piece of paper and a pen.
But you’re creating that illusion that you are working with a client and it may even be just an image of the back of their head, right? I love this for especially for coaches and mentors that are in the online space, it’s hard to market that and promote that. I mean, unless you’re just like showing screenshots of zoom calls, right? So this would be a great opportunity for you to gather a small group of friends kind of create that little mastermind vibey look, while still getting those professional images. And then of course, not just getting the photos, but also the behind the scenes videos.
Ready to Crush Your Content At Your Next Brand Shoot?
Okay, so this is all the magic that is happening during your actual brand shoot. Sidenote commercial break before we go on, I do not want you and I highly, highly encourage this. Don’t boast these live, wait a wait till you get home that night, especially if you are in a public space. I try to be very, very proactive about safety when it comes to myself and my clients.
This is something that you don’t want people knowing where you are. I’m not afraid at all to tell people exactly where I was like after the fact I’m not a gatekeeper about my locations at all. But so that’s not the issue. The issue is just safety, right? Like you don’t want people to see like, oh my gosh, they’re at this location right now. They’re at this hotel. They’re at this Studio Center. No, there’s just a lot of creepers.
I will always always be an advocate for your safety. So especially for the day of your shoot. Let’s wait to post those that night after you’re already gone. And number five, showcase and reveal your headshot and all of the content in your bank. Okay, like this is when you get to literally They share your content, like a commercial, okay? Sometimes they think we will post a headshot, or we’ll post fun things.
And then you’re like, Okay, well, that’s it. Like I created my graphics for this new program, I have this launch setup, the Facebook group is created, and I have a couple of headshots. And you feel like you’re done. This is where, and I’m sorry, I feel like I’m creating more work for you.
But ultimately, that’s the goal, right? I want to create a little bit more work for you upfront. So you actually book more work, right? Like, that’s just so ironic, but it’s true, I highly encourage you to actually reveal your headshots and make it a big deal. Okay, celebrate it. I mean, if you’re, especially if you’re doing a huge brand launch, you should be having some type of virtual party, some type of live event, even if you’re popping on for 30 seconds. I’m not even kidding you, I challenge you that if you have a new, either brand, reveal a launch party of some sort, just go live, go live for 30 seconds to two minutes.
It doesn’t have to be this huge production where you’re just talking and just like sharing, sharing your life and your business. But I think that would be a great little Kickstarter for you to start feeling comfortable. Speaking live, okay, and creating, creating motion and commotion around your business. If you’re not rattling the universe, with your content, with your behind the scenes, with your photos with your words of advice, what’s your love and your wisdom? Why would anybody else talk about it? Right? We can not depend on our past clients, on our future clients, our friends and family to talk about us if we have nothing to give, we have nothing for them to share.
Okay. And then bonus because y’all know I love a little extra little bonus at the end. Please, please, please, actually use your curated and behind the scenes content. Splash them with introduction post. In fact, I have a freebie for you. It’s all about 40 Friday introductions, which are just quick little introductions for caption ideas. That don’t suck. Okay, so I just recently had an episode about that, that I cannot wait for you. If you miss that one. You have to go back and listen.
They’re just really fun, easy takeaways for you to start talking about yourself talking about your business organically. without it feeling salesy and annoying, right, we really want to bridge that gap between Hey, I’m a real human. But I’m also really a professional and I have something to offer that I know you’re going to love. Okay, so I hope you enjoy this episode. I am now currently booking Crusher content shoots that I am so passionate about. They are quick photoshoots that help you feel empowered, and strategically photograph exactly like what you are trying to say or what you’re trying to evoke. But sometimes it’s hard to create that imagery, right. So that’s where my intuition comes in.
And I’m just so grateful for all these opportunities. I can’t wait to to work with you and if I can’t work with you personally here in Arizona, I hope you find a local photographer that you love. Stick with them continue building out content, whether it’s monthly, quarterly, or even annually go big. But now’s the time to invest in you, baby. You deserve it. Your clients deserve it. And it’s just just so fun. Go make it fun. Don’t take it so seriously. All right.
Well, I hope you have a beautiful day and kick butt at your next photo shoot. Please, please, please tag me in those photos tagged me in those behind the scenes. I would love to reshare them. And of course I’m always cheering for you. Keep on dancing baby. K, love you. Bye.
