“A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.” – Jane Travis
Review the Transcript:
A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there. This is a quote by Jane Travis. And I believe it’s the perfect intro into today’s topic, which I will be sharing with you my wildest and craziest dream. In fact, it was a dream that I picked up and moved out of state to pursue. Now, before we dive into this wild and crazy dream, I want you to know that you are welcome here. If you have ever had some type of crazy idea or dream, and anybody has ever told you to calm down, or to maybe make you believe that this is just too ambitious, and you’re crazy. You are welcome here. Okay, so I just want you to know that every day, someone tells me that I’m crazy. Every day someone puts me down and kind of rolls their eyes, or maybe makes me feel like this is something that’s kind of out of my league. But I listened to them, I pick up and put down what I need. And then I go about my day and pursue my dreams anyway. So if that sounds like you, I just want you to know that this is a safe place to dream really, really big. Trust me, I know we have our daily responsibilities. We have our daily tasks and our families that we’re juggling. And sometimes these wild and crazy dreams or these end goals can seem way, way, way out of reach. But if we take the steps we can every single day, I can guarantee that it’s possible and that it’s much closer in reach than you can imagine.

Come join me for a dance party. Ready, let’s go. So I want to share with you my wildest and crazy dream. And to keep it really short without going crazy. It is to open up my very own wedding venue. Now, it’s not just a matter of finding the perfect property or purchasing an existing venue, that would be awesome. Honestly, that would be a great start. But my dream of all dreams is to actually buy some dirt and build and construct this wedding venue from the ground up with keeping everything in mind with the interest of lighting for photography, to make this honestly a magical place for couples to exchange their vows for small business owners to host retreats and just as safe, beautiful and just comfortable place for people to gather and pursue their dreams. So it could be the best day of their life. The day they say I do. It could be a gorgeous yoga retreat location, or a space for people to come together and just celebrate, I just want to host dance parties.
They’re all the things. And I just kind of wanted to share exactly where I’m coming from when it comes to fueling this dream. So I was raised up a dirt road up in Elma den and my dad actually built our home there. And I loved when we had people come over our house wasn’t adventure, it was the type of location that you had to call before not because we’re those weirdos that you have to call before you pop in. But because we wanted to make sure the gate was open. So and after a certain point coming up to our house, the service would be lost. So we’d have to kind of have an idea of when you were coming up there. Spending time at our home also meant that you should wear your boots that you should possibly bring a change of clothes. A lot of times when we were little my cousins would come and they’d bring their pajamas because they’d be there all day. And then they would fall asleep in the car ride home. It was a place to escape. And it was a safe place. It was our happy place. And I quickly realized obviously as you grow up and you start meeting people and you start connecting with new friends, that is not a childhood that I shared with a lot of people. So that in itself is the perfect reason why I want to chase this really big dream to create eight those types of experiences for couples. very similarly to how chip and Jojo have this magical touch where everything they seem to touches turns to gold, and it kind of like just makes you feel comfortable and safe even though you’ve never been there.
So for example, when I went to Magnolia for the first time in Waco, I I’ve been there a couple times but the first time I was mesmerized and I got to go with it. My birthday, I actually chose to go there for my 30th birthday, I didn’t go to Vegas, I didn’t go to Nashville, which are the places that I would have loved to have gone. But I chose to go to Magnolia. And I just, I was so flabbergasted by just how magical everything felt, to the way everybody was greeted. Of course, it was my birthday. So I think I got like three extra cupcakes that day because my aunts and my best friend kept telling everybody was my birthday. So they would just bring me cupcakes, which was awesome. But I love the attention to detail. And I loved how everywhere you went, people were smiling, people were happy. And that is the exact kind of magic I want to create for the venue. So let’s kind of take a couple step back, like couple steps back and kind of share why I moved out of state, okay, because I was raised in the Bay Area, which as you know, I’m sure you’ve seen the San Francisco Bay area has astronomical prices for housing. And it’s just impossible.
There’s no way that I could with my salary, even though I’ve probably been thinking but there’s no way I could afford a home on my own, let alone buying dirt and constructing this. Honestly, million dollar plus adventure by myself. I had to take those risks. So my best friend has been out here in Arizona for a couple years. And she’s been trying to get me to move out here forever. And she used to always kind of like dangle this carrot on her on my like in my head. It’s like, you got to get out here. There’s all the guys out here drive real big trucks, there’s a whole bunch of cowboys out here. And her biggest thing was just come, just come You know, you don’t have to buy this dirt right away, you can come live with me. And that’s exactly what I did. It took a couple years of convincing. Finally, I was in a place in my life where I was single, I don’t have any children. I kind of just had this this breaking point or I thought if I don’t go now, I don’t think I’ll ever leave.
Now I chose Arizona because of the thriving wedding industry. So Scottsdale is like the Beverly Hills of Arizona, there are beautiful resorts out there. It is a very trendy location for destination weddings, the weather out here, honestly, seven to eight months out of the year is perfection. It is beautiful. Yes, it gets hot. And I’m aware of that. But I’d rather pay a million dollars less on a home and pay a little bit more in air conditioning than pay those prices to be perfectly honest. So that’s where I landed. And I am continuing to pursue this dream every single day. I always have that in the back of my mind if I’m kind of like laying on the couch and ever just kind of scrolling or just watching mindless TV. I’m always looking up on realtor.com or Zillow, and I’m looking at property and that is what ignites me. I feel like sometimes people can be a little kind of feeling overwhelmed when there is too much on their plate and the picture is too big and it can be hard to break down those baby steps to make it happen.
But honestly, that’s what fuels me when I’m when I’m feeling tired and I need to rest. I always make time to take that rest. Flash I just kind of pass out because my body tells me I’ve had enough but I try hard to ensure that I make that time to rest. But even when I’m resting, I’m dreaming. And that is what keeps pulling me forward. So I was looking for a fresh start nothing holding me back and everything was wide open, my lens, the throttle and my heart wide open for opportunities and adventure. I’m so thankful that you’re here along this ride. I am looking forward to the day where I can honestly have like those ginormous scissors and some beautiful red ribbon that will just click out you know, open up for us to enjoy and celebrate. And like I said, this is a dream that is bigger than me. This is a dream that I know deep down will provide generational wealth for my family. But it’s also a space where I can make people feel heard, feel loved and welcomed, feel understood.
And it’s it’s kind of like almost like if I can make an embodiment of myself like I know that sounds really crazy. If you don’t know me in person, I may sound like a wacko I’m sorry. But that’s exactly how I want it to feel that the experience that people feel around me and I hope this is how you feel is feeling warm feeling welcome. And just cracking up feeling understood. That is exactly the feeling I want in an actual address in an actual building somewhere safe, where we can just make our wildest dreams come true. I can’t thank you enough for falling along with this dream every single Listen, every single photoshoot and wedding booked and product purchased I’m working on lots of courses and education coming out soon that I know will transform your life as it has mine Everything counts and everything is going to go one one every penny is going towards this dream. And none of this would be possible without you.
