Someone pinch me. I still can’t believe that this BIG dream of mine came to life! Many years ago when I started my business I prayed for couples to simply trust me. To just believe that if I was given a chance or a big break I would exceed their expectations and impress them with my photography. I loved styling details, creating a comfortable and FUN environment for everyone and catching true, genuine laughs.

The problem was that I had very little experience. I photographed my brother’s best friends wedding and a couple family friend’s destination weddings. But I craved more. How could I ever get my name out there and have couple’s value my work and SEE what I could do?

Well, after many years traveling for photography workshops and conferences I noticed one thing that launched my business.  Styled Shoots. Yes, of course I was learning tons of priceless education along the way and will rave about our industry leaders all day, but what really caught the eye of potential clients were the images from the styled shoots I had the opportunity to photograph!

My ideal clients, family, friends, and old high school classmates started to notice. Within one year I was booking more weddings, increasing my pricing, and creating lasting referral relationships with venues and vendors. These styled shoots completely transformed my business.

So this got me thinking… “How can I create my own? How can I share this experience with other budding photographers?” Well, that’s when The Styled Pop Up Series was born!

These Pop Ups are basically fake weddings. No joke they’re legit pretend weddings that showcase a real life couple with tons of beautiful details! Rentals, planners, cake bakers, hair and make up stylists, calligraphers, and many more unite to bring this fake wedding to LIFE!

Each Styled Pop Up will be hosted at a new venue, highlight a fresh color palette, and bring different vendors together for an opportunity to showcase their talents. With two down in the books so far, I’m anxious to take The Styled Pop Up Series on the road! Up and down the state of California and eventually out of state!

While we are currently submitting for publication I can only share some sneak peeks and behind the scenes for now… Here’s a look into our most recent Styled Pop Up hosted at Kirigin Cellars Winery!

Twelve attendees had the opportunity to capture an “almost” live wedding to practice posing, lighting, and interacting with the models. This was so FUN to see them step out of their shell and capture some breath taking shots!
