Growing up the flattrack racing community was like a huge extended family. The fathers and even grandfathers raced against each other in the past and have carried the tradition on with their families. For being known as a tough crowd these men truly are the kindest and most loving people I know. If you ever needed a part, a tire or to be rescued off the track these families wouldn’t hesitate to help. I spent a lot of time providing gatorades and snacks to these racers and loved sharing images, too!
Recently we found out the devastating news that twenty-two year old Dominic Colindres crashed hard on the Peoria TT on August 14th. This landing left him paralyzed from the heart down with a long road to recovery. Hearing this news makes my heart drop and want to help in anyway I can. To be honest I haven’t even seen Dominic in months and before that it’s been years. It doesn’t matter where you live or how long it’s been, the flattracking community truly sticks together.
So how can I help raise awareness and donations for his recovery?
Personally, I can only afford to donate about $100 at this time… but I can create a photo shoot to help raise as much money as possible for his recovery!
Which brings the 2017 Calendar idea to mind!
YES! A calendar is in the works and 100% of the proceeds will be going directly towards Dominic’s medical bills. This calendar will be filled with The Sisters of Racers honoring our brothers and the men in our lives that we love. All images will be classic and bold with a hint of sass. Keeping it PG, y’all!
Here’s the Details…
Photo Shoot Date: Friday, October 21st
Time: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Location: San Jose, CA
Hair and Make Up will be provided. High resolution digital images will be delivered for your time and participation.

Two years ago I hosted a donation photo shoot marathon for our dear friend Laurelle that also had a scary accident in Pismo. Together family and friends helped me raise over $1,000 to help support her medical bills. Today she is well and thriving!
Last year we got the news that my baby cousin was diagnosed with Leukemia… so quickly another donation photo shoot was in the works! My family set up camp at a local park to welcome friends and families, provide snacks and fun crafts while children waited their turn for photos! As a donation only shoot some gave $20 and one family drove all the way down from Sacramento and wrote a check for $400! I was absolutely in shock for the outreach and kindness that everyone shared. Together we raised over $2,000 for Love for Liam Today he is growing strong and thankfully experiencing the terrible twos!
Looking forward to raising the bar again this time for our next fundraiser!
With love, Quianna Marie
