Welcome to the blog, sort of like a digital garden where dreams are planted and grow wild! My name is Quianna and my family calls me “Qui” like key! I’m a traveling photographer based in Scottsdale and the Bay Area.
I love adventures and creating memories even more than I love photographing them—and I LOVE taking photos! In addition to capturing weddings, family milestones, and the best memories I also offer business tools, motivation and inspiration to help creatives turn their passions into their profession. We only get this one life, why not live our days doing what we love?
Grooms Do Too Podcast | How To Pick Your Wedding Photographer
The Grooms Do Too Podcast, hosted by Al Breitin is a brilliant idea for our men!!! Al is an incredible radio DJ for KRTY (my favorite local country radio station) and professional officiant. After YEARS of officiating and helping with vows he got tired of grooms not having opinions or requests for their weddings!
Just recently I hopped on an interview as a guest on the podcast, Grooms Do Too! It was so fun to chat with Al about tips for selecting your wedding photographer and which images to request. Typically wedding photos are most important for the ladies, but wedding days are just as special and important for men, too!
HOW TO PICK YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
From The Grooms Perspective
Participate In The Interview Process
I encourage couples to dig and research photographers to finalize style, budget and vibes. Once you two have narrowed down your faves, I encourage both of you to hop on the call/zoom/real life coffee date to get to know each other. It’s SO important for everyone involved to feel heard, comfortable and to vibe well!
Special Heirlooms
Are you wearing your grandfather’s pocket watch? Do you have a secret label inside your coat or a personalized gift for your groomsmen? These are all details to think about and to request from your photographer.
Images To Request
My biggest tip for requesting photos, isn’t so much about the exact photo to catch, but make a short list of your favorite people! Guys, this is a huge – yet super easy way to ensure your photographer grabs wresting photos with your nephew while you’re getting ready, sweet generation photos with your grandparents and special family members that traveled far and wide to join!
Key Tip: Professional photographers will capture as much as they can of your guests, but knowing that a special high school coach is attending will help remind them to include them in the shot list! Remember it’s more about the PEOPLE than the photos.
Thank you, Al for inviting me to share! I loved our chat and look forward to sharing more episodes as you roll them out! More of my grooms NEED to tune in!
You can expect to hear back from me within 24 hours on weekdays! Weekends are reserved for shooting weddings, but I'll be back in a jif to reply to your message!
