Welcome to the blog, sort of like a digital garden where dreams are planted and grow wild! My name is Quianna and my family calls me “Qui” like key! I’m a branding photographer based in Scottsdale and the Bay Area.
I love adventures and creating memories even more than I love photographing them—and I LOVE taking photos! In addition to capturing weddings, family milestones, and the best memories I also offer business tools, motivation and inspiration to help creatives turn their passions into their profession. We only get this one life, why not live our days doing what we love?
3 Things to Consider Before Booking Your Next Brand Shoot
3 Things to Consider Before Booking Your Next Brand Shoot
“When should I book my next brand shoot?” – I get this question ALL the time!
The answer isn’t when you’ve run out of photos or you get a new hair cut.
It’s when you’re preparing for what’s next.
Your brand photography should support the future of your business, not just document where you are today. Before you start looking at studio rentals, shopping for outfits, or adding another date to your calendar, here are three things I encourage every client to think about.
1. Book for the Business You’re Building
The best time to plan a brand shoot is when you’re stepping into a new season of your business.
Maybe you’re:
Launching a new offer or program
Raising your prices
Hosting a retreat or event
Pivoting your niche
Building a team
Refreshing your website
Preparing for a podcast or speaking opportunities
Your brand photos shouldn’t be an afterthought once everything is live. Instead, they should help tell the story of where you’re headed.
Think beyond updating your headshot. This is your opportunity to create intentional content that supports your website, email marketing, social media, launches, and sales pages for months to come.
Your audience should see the next version of your business before you officially announce it.
I’m forever grateful for my clients that think ahead! The business besties I know that have the best launches, sell out their retreats, and gain a ton of visibility for their offers and events all do this ONE thing…
They plan ahead! They forecast their upcoming events, plan a runway launch for their offers and know the power of a brand shoot. These brand photos fuel their sales pages, builds hype, and boosts a ton of engagement BEFORE the offer is even released!
2. Work With Your Cycle, Not Against It
If you’re someone who enjoys planning ahead, here’s a tip you may not have considered: schedule your brand shoot around your cycle.
Many women notice they feel their most energized, confident, and socially engaged during their follicular phase, especially as they approach ovulation. For some, this is when their skin feels its best, confidence is higher, and they’re simply excited to be in front of the camera.
Of course, every body is different.
I’ve photographed incredible women during every phase of their cycle, and every session has been beautiful. This isn’t about perfection—it’s simply another tool to help you feel your best if your schedule allows.
Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference in how you show up.
3. Plan Around Your Energy
One of my favorite planning conversations with clients has nothing to do with photography.
It starts with one question:
“When do you feel most energized?”
Many of my clients travel to Arizona for conferences, mastermind weekends, speaking engagements, podcast interviews, retreats, or even family vacations. Together, we decide whether it makes more sense to photograph before or after those events.
Some entrepreneurs love scheduling their session at the beginning of the trip. They arrive refreshed, focused, and ready to create while their social battery is still full.
Others prefer to book after a conference or retreat, when they’re leaving inspired, confident, and full of fresh ideas. That excitement naturally shines through in their photos.
Neither approach is right or wrong.
The goal is to build your brand shoot around your energy—not just your availability.
Your Brand Shoot Is More Than a Date on the Calendar
The most successful brand sessions aren’t planned because someone needed new photos.
They’re planned with intention.
When you consider where your business is headed, how your body naturally feels throughout the month, and when your energy is at its highest, your photos become so much more than beautiful images.
They become a strategic investment in your next chapter.
If you’re already dreaming about what’s next for your business, let’s start planning a brand session that captures the version of you you’re growing into, not just the one standing here today.
