As we turn the page into a new year we have the power to write our own story. Blank pages ahead with endless opportunities, backed by years of experiences, failures, wins and good vibes.
Happy New Year, Beautiful! We made it to a new year and I’m looking forward to this fresh start. I’m one of those weirdos that actually loves Monday mornings every week, so starting an entire fresh year gives me hope and the feeling of an open highway full of possibilities.
Over the years I’ve shifted my New Years resolutions into quarterly goals, daily habits and micro changes. So for example ins tead of making a short list of 3-5 New Years Resolutions like lose weight, save more money, or stay more organized, I found that those would fizzle out around february and those resolutions just weren’t a priority anymore. Now, you know your girl loves goals and lists and making plans! So I noticed once I started making road maps for my new year with quarterly goals, it was so much easier to work backwards to make weekly checkpoints and daily routines.
Kicking off this new year I want to help you feel confident and powerful with full control of your wildest dreams. We hold the power of our thoughts and actions. We literally make our own reality. So as the clock ticks and welcomes this new year never forget that we’re rolling into something new, with the same you.
You’re powerful. Brilliant. Creative. Resilient. Even a little scrappy with a hustlers heart to make everything work out. I know a lot of us are shifting. We’re stepping into new roles, adding new offers, shifting our business plans and getting creative as our industries are changing daily. I see you. You’re working hard, prioritizing your mental health, nutrition and making time to make memories at home with your family. You’re a superhero for always being there to help others and making our world a brighter place. While you’re helping to make everyone’s life easier and better around you, let’s take time this week to make a plan for your goals. Like a road map. Just like planning a road trip we may make some detours, stop to try famous pie or get lost on the way, but having a destination helps give us direction.
As I make my own personal road map with visions for my dream wedding venue, the big big vision feels out of reach. I really just need about 3 million dollars to break ground and start constructing the wedding venue of my dreams. Since I haven’t won the lottery recently, that just isn’t in the cards today. But I wanna share a download I received recently that completely changed my mindset. If you’re unfamiliar with a download, I’m not talking about a freebie or PDF to download online, I’m talking about when you pause to meditate, clear your mind in the shower or just stop to breathe deeply you’ll receive energies and thoughts. I know it’s a little woo woo, but I’m sure you’ve experienced these thoughts without even knowing it. For example, just talking with a friend you may experience a download, share that thought with them and it’s the exact message your friend needed to hear or it sparks a whole new conversation that feels like it clicks or like it was the message or lesson of the day!
So back to that download, If you’re new here, I’ve been dreaming of creating a space for everyone to feel welcome, a building drenched with natural light. Basically a building to share happy memories, host retreats, exchange vows and celebrate life. The download I received was that I am the venue. The venue is not just a piece of dirt. It’s not a fixer upper warehouse. I am the venue. A vessel for these opportunities and connections.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but I literally cried. I had goosebumps and this rush of emotions. My big wedding venue goals became so much more attainable, because it allowed me to create these experiences now. Today. I started hosting Brunch and Bubbly events for recently engaged couples, date nights for my past wedding couples, mini sessions at Christmas tree farms and others with our toes in the sand, I even designed my new kitchen here in Arizona to be all white with subway tiles so I could host content and branding shoots in my own home.
I can create those wedding venue vibes sitting at different coffee shops around town, hosting workshops and traveling for adventure shoots out in nature.
Now, I’m not telling you all of this to get a pat on the back. I’m sharing this Ah-Ha moment to help you apply it to your own life. What are your big goals and how can you embody them today? Are you working towards financial freedom and a more luxurious life? Instead of working from home today, take a shower and head to your nearest big city and work at a bar at a swanky hotel.
Do you have a goal to invest in yourself, maybe hire a coach or a mentor? But you feel broke and not ready for that next step? Start by asking new business owner friends out for coffee to brainstorm, exchange referrals and spark ideas. Now I’m not encouraging you to go out and ask for “pick my brain†lunches or phone calls, but instead connect with genuine friends and not make it all about business. Just rattle the universe to meet new awesome people and make connections.
Do you have a goal to purchase a new home? Ask for referrals for a legit realtor in your area and ask how you can be preparing. I have a new friend here in my neighborhood named Angela Gordon and her content is incredible. She’s always sharing encouragement, tips and high value posts that help make it possible to become a homeowner. I always thought you had to save 20-40% for a down payment and thats not always the case! Don’t let a high downpayment make it feel impossible to purchase a home. Connecting with people like Angela in your home town will help get the ball rolling. Plus, just making that first step, rattles the universe and embodies the possibilities. It doesn’t make it so scary!
Do you want to travel more? But maybe you’re also feeling broke or nervous about current travel restrictions? Start exploring your own home town. I know you’ll be surprised to find some incredible hikes, new restaurants, beautiful nature vibes and cool things to do within a two hour day trip adventure. Sometimes just grabbing lunch in the next town over feels like a vacation! It doesn’t have to be expensive to create those memories.
The more we can live in the moment, embrace what’s right in front of our face and truly be grateful for what we have to work with right now the more opportunities come rolling in.
Okay, back the roadmap. I challenge you to take some time this week and map out your large quarterly goals. Create checkpoints for deadlines and update your daily routines to set yourself up for success. Once you have a powerhouse plan for your goals with weekly checkpoints and daily tasks, let it go. Release expectations and let the universe work for you. You’re supported by your guardian angels and the wisdom of your own past experiences. Remember, we may be starting a new year, but it’s the same you. You are in control. If we’ve learned anything from the past couple of years, we know the time will pass anyway. It’s insane to realize 2020 was TWO years ago! Let’s make the best of it. Live life to the fullest and truly step into this new year as action takers, doers and dreamers. Always cheering for you and can’t wait to hear about how you’re taking those big goals and living with them as your own reality today!
