Welcome to the blog, sort of like a digital garden where dreams are planted and grow wild! My name is Quianna and my family calls me “Qui” like key! I’m a traveling photographer based in Scottsdale and the Bay Area.
I love adventures and creating memories even more than I love photographing them—and I LOVE taking photos! In addition to capturing weddings, family milestones, and the best memories I also offer business tools, motivation and inspiration to help creatives turn their passions into their profession. We only get this one life, why not live our days doing what we love?
Exactly one year ago, I walked right up to my boss and handed him a piece of paper. This letter was my two weeks notice. I really wanted to run out the door at that time and scream… BYE FELICIA! But I knew this was a technicality and the right thing to do for the office world.
When I had him sign the papers I asked him if he had any advice for me about being a business owner. This caught him off guard as I’m sure he assumed I was pursuing a national geographic gig to travel the world and take photographs… nothing close to the wedding industry! His response was to read as many books as possible about leadership and business and then he looked at me with a smirk, “If you never want to work for anyone but yourself again, then do it. It’s just that simple.”
The saying goes that if you don’t pursue your dream then you will forever be helping someone else’s dream come true. After that comment I knew it was meant to be. Once I set my mind to something, once I dream about it, visualize and work towards it, it just sort of happens and falls into place! There’s no fast pass, no luck or a pile of money to make it magically happen. Just hard work, kindness and passion that have lead to this moment. Next week I will be celebrating my one year anniversary as a full time photographer and I can’t wait to share some fun surprises!
You can expect to hear back from me within 24 hours on weekdays! Weekends are reserved for shooting weddings, but I'll be back in a jif to reply to your message!
