Welcome to the blog, sort of like a digital garden where dreams are planted and grow wild! My name is Quianna and my family calls me “Qui” like key! I’m a traveling photographer based in Scottsdale and the Bay Area.
I love adventures and creating memories even more than I love photographing them—and I LOVE taking photos! In addition to capturing weddings, family milestones, and the best memories I also offer business tools, motivation and inspiration to help creatives turn their passions into their profession. We only get this one life, why not live our days doing what we love?
“Be patient with yourself. Nothing in nature blooms all year.”
This was the first year ever that I have experienced a wedding season. For the last couple of years of shooting weddings December – April were booked with winter weddings and tons of family portraits. For it being so slow these last couple of months, the stress and panic set in.
“Did I make the right decision to depend on my camera to pay my bills?”
“Will it ever pick up and keep rolling?”
“I really miss getting my nails done… How soon will I have extra cash for both a manicure and pedicure?!” -The struggle has been real.
Luckily, like all things that come in waves the wedding season is slowly coming and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Here’s what I’ve been working on behind the scenes…
Education
Workshops are my newest obsession and I can’t wait to attend more next year! They not only overload you with photography education, but business help, and lasting friendships with the attendees are truly what it’s about! Making these connections around the country that I can contact any time/day to help with questions and sharing tips makes it WORTH IT! Plus each time I return home I have this natural high that lasts for weeks! Like a jolt of motivation and inspiration to apply all of the new ideas to my business!
Amy & Jordan -a husband and wife team in Scottsdale, AZ
Hope Taylor – the sweetest and youngest boss lady all the way in Fredericksburg, VA
Katelyn James – her Consistency Course has been a game changer and I can’t wait to visit her once her Home Made for Hosting is up and running! Â (Literally my dream home/venue!!!)
Business
Since my weekdays and a couple weekends have been wide open lately I have had the opportunity to make some serious updates to my website (coming SOON!) and actually create a blogging schedule. My views have sky rocketed simply because I have created blog series and post more than twice a week! Thanks guys!!
I have also taken advantage of this time to streamline my wedding experience and close client meetings with a “YES!” I am really looking forward to working with my 2016 brides!
House Cleaning
For those that know me will laugh… I’m pretty much a walking hot mess and my workspace is always a disaster!  For my birthday my Aunt’s gifted me the most amazing present ever! Check this out!!!!
Now, the organizing and filling process is still going on… I can’t wait to share more pics of the building process soon! Talk about Ikea on steroids! Thank God for the men in my life. Phew! My life is 100% better because of this amazingness!
Luckily the business is still rolling and I have had the opportunity to book some fun projects including baby showers, new born sessions, and even shoot some super cute earrings created by my 7th grade PE teacher!
The quote above truly makes me realize that just like flowers, humans (business owners) don’t bloom all year. In fact, even though the beautiful flower isn’t blooming… the sun, water and dirt work tirelessly with the plant to bloom when it’s ready. And oh boy am I ready to bloom!
Hope you have a great week and don’t be so hard on yourself. Just keep pushing and working everyday towards your dream.
You can expect to hear back from me within 24 hours on weekdays! Weekends are reserved for shooting weddings, but I'll be back in a jif to reply to your message!
